Dear Families,

This week is another shorter week with Thanksgiving Monday! We are excited for lots of great things happen this week at and around the school, including clubs, sports, and trips!

We had a very successful Terry Fox Walk last Tuesday October 8th. We will be revealing the total amount raised this week!!! Did the students raise enough to get the special surprise from Mrs. Fox, Mme Tiuu and M. Derbyshire???

Also, a big congratulations to all of our students who participated in the Fort Henry Cross Country Run last week! We are very proud of all of the students, and well done to those who qualified for the district championship on October 17th!

Picture Day is this week! Please see the poster and class lists below. Teachers will reach out if there are any changes.

It's another 4 day week! We hope everyone had a wonderful long weekendweek, and are ready for another great week at Maple!!

Mrs. Fox, Mme Tiiu, M. Derbyshire, and the entire Maple Team!

NEW for Maple: Established Meet-Up Locations for Walkers NEW for Maple: Established Meet-Up Locations for Walkers

In collaboration with the City of Kingston and KFL&A, Ecole Maple is excited to offer an opportunity for families to access established meet up locations for their student (s) who are walking from the neighbourhood indicated on the meet up location map. Families may decide to walk with the group, or set up a network where this could be scheduled with other families in the neighbourhood. At the end of the school day, students can also access the meet up location at the Gazebo for their walk home. As indicated, there is the advantage of increased safety when traveling in numbers as well as an opportunity to make friends and build community.

SchoolMessenger App

Why Use the SchoolMessenger App?

When you join SchoolMessenger, you will be able to:

  • receive imporant information from LDSB
  • join classrooms and extra-curricular groups
  • report a student's absence (same day and in advance)

Reporting A Student's Absence:

The new student absence reporting system will let you use a mobile app, a website, or an interactive toll-free phone number to report an absence in advance. These options are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Future absences can be reported at any time.

If your student is marked absent and the absence hasn’t been reported in advance, our new SafeArrival system will attempt to reach the student’s priority contact by telephone to confirm the absence. If our system is unable to reach the designated contacts, school office staff will follow up.
