Principal's Message
Good Evening Weymouth High School Community,
Hope everyone’s staying warm and getting ready to cheer on the Pats this Super Bowl weekend!
February is Black History Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the history, achievements, and lasting contributions of Black Americans. Throughout the month, our school community will highlight voices, stories, and milestones that have shaped our nation and continue to influence our world today. We will share the morning announcement messages at the end of the month.
On Friday, we held our Credit for Life event for seniors. This interactive event challenges seniors to manage their budget for a month. For many it was an eye opening experience. Thank you to our staff that supports this event and all our community volunteers who made it possible.
Student Spotlight
As the winter sports season winds down, we’re especially proud to celebrate our seniors during their final home contests — a special way to honor the dedication and heart they’ve given to their teams.
Our hockey team captured the Herget Division Championship for the second straight year with an exciting overtime win over Milton — an incredible back-to-back achievement!
A huge congratulations to our wrestling team for clinching the Bay State League title on Senior Night. And a special shoutout to Declan Malone for earning his 100th career victory at the meet against Walpole — a tremendous milestone that reflects years of hard work.
Our gymnastics team also represented us well, earning 7th place at the Bay State League Championship this weekend.
This past Saturday, January 31st, the SALSA club (Students Advocating for life without Substance Abuse) attended the Youth Power Summit at Worcester State University, organized by The Chapter 84 Movement. Members participated in a variety of workshops and listened to insightful speakers, engaging in meaningful discussions on topics such as substance use prevention, racial disparities within the public health system, and the misleading marketing of illegal substances (particularly toward youth). Networking with surrounding schools across the state of Massachusetts provided a valuable experience in helping to spread the word about ways to lead healthy lifestyles and routines. SALSA meets every other Wednesday at the high school in Room 1047, located in the back of the library. They are always welcoming new members!
Parent Council - 2/25, WHS Library, 7 pm
Please join our CTE Director, Sam DePina, he will share information about our programs, with a focus on the freshman exploratory experience and the selection process for 9th grade students.
In January, our Director of Counseling, Brynn Cooper, shared a presentation on mental health awareness, and we are pleased to make that presentation available to our families. WHS Mental Health Supports

Weymouth Food Pantry & Franklin Food Pantry face off in "SOUPer Bowl 2026" Soup Drive. The Franklin Food Pantry is gearing up to defend its title as SOUPer Bowl Champion — but the Weymouth Food Pantry is ready to make sure that doesn’t happen in this year’s highly anticipated SOUPer Bowl 2026 canned soup competition.
The two pantries are asking their communities to donate cans of soup starting January 8, 2026. The pantry that receives the most soup by February 8, 2026, will be named SOUPer Bowl Champ 2026.
