CommUNITY Chat
Join us for our next CommUNITY Chat on Monday, May 4, at 5:30 p.m. in the Jackson Park gymnasium; and come ready to be part of the conversation. Weβll share a hands-on overview of our newly adopted K-5 mathematics and 6-8 ELA-R curricular resources, plus critical updates on legislative changes, including the Governorβs executive order for an A-F grading system. Your voice matters, and this is your opportunity to ask questions, share feedback, and stay informed.
Canβt make it? Reach out directly; Iβd love to connect. To register, please click here.
Community Event
Join us next Friday, May 8, for a fun and informative community Open House at Fire House 1 (863 Westgate Ave) from 4:00β6:00 PM. The event will kick off with a firetruck push-in ceremony from 4:00β4:30 PM, followed by tours, games, snacks, and family resources.
St. Louis Children's Hospital will also be on site with their Safety Stop, offering free safety education and resources for families, including car seat checks, low-cost helmets, childproofing tips, and safe sleep guidance.
This is a great opportunity for families to connect, learn, and enjoy time together. We hope to see you there!
Reminder - Arrival Procedure
This is a friendly reminder that students should remain in their cars until 8:30 a.m., as there is no adult supervision available prior to that time. For the safety of all students, please do not drop children off early.
We also ask that you drive slowly and carefully through the parking lot during arrival, as there are many children and families moving through the area.
Thank you for helping us keep our students safe each day!

From the Heart of UCity - Podcast
In the latest episode of From the Heart of U City, Dr. Hardin-Bartley spotlights the power of student voice and innovative instruction. Fifth-grade students Avery McGee and Micah Jackson join their teacher, Ms. Nicole Binion, to share how hands-on STEM learning is fueling their confidence, creativity, and academic growth. Through their reflections, listeners gain insight into what it truly means for students to feel seen, challenged, and inspired in the classroom, an authentic testament to the impact of engaging, student-centered learning experiences.

Missouri State Law (Senate Bill 68)
Cell phones
Smartwatches
Tablets and laptops
Wireless headphones or earbuds (like Beats Bluetooth/Wi-Fi headphones)
What this means in practice:
During the regular school day (from the first bell to dismissal), students generally must keep wireless headphones turned off and stored in a backpack or locker. They typically cannot be worn or visible in class, lunch, recess, or passing periods.
