Orchestra: Grubb
The last few weeks the students have been working in small ensemble groups of 2, 3, or 4 people and have chosen at least 2 songs they are working on with their group. They will have to perform at least one of these songs for the class on Wednesday, May 14th for our in-class recital. They will be graded individually on their part and how well their group plays together. In addition, if there are any students who have solo songs they want to perform as well, they are more than welcome.
We have one more weekly practice vlog #7 that is due Monday, May 5th. If there are any missing assignments, please make sure students turn them in for late credit. They will still need to practice at home to work on their parts for their ensembles so they can contribute to the success of their group performance.
Extra practice might be necessary if your student feels they are not keeping up with the pace of the class. It is a requirement to practice at home, and should practice a minimum of an hour per week outside of class.

6TH GRADE DRAMA DISCOVERY
What a wonderful and exciting final nine weeks of Drama Discovery. During this term students explored daily vocal and physical warm ups, learned how to create and perform pantomime scenes (acting without words or sound), explored the spontaneous world of improvisation (acting without a script), learned how to apply effective readers theater skills to scripts and explored the process of writing original realistic memorized scenes for performance. While exploring all of these units students learn to create, collaborate, listen, rehearse, revise, perform and reflect. Thank you for another wonderful and successful year and hope to see many of you next year in Drama I.
DRAMA 1
Students recently completed their final acting unit, Fairytale Theater. In this unit students adapted a fairytale but added a unique twist. They created a design concept for costumes, sound, lights, props and set. They rehearsed and revised for a final performance of their work in class. Thank you Drama I for a wonderful year. Have a great safe, fun summer!
DRAMA II
Thank you to all of my Drama II students for a great year. It was an honor to work with students on a variety of units such as, Improvisation, Monologue skills, scene study, acting for the camera, moviemaking, intro to Shakespeare and stage combat. Have a great summer and a awesome start to your Freshman year this upcoming school year.
