A Message from Dr. Hoffman, Interim Superintendent
Beginning next week, we’ll start state testing with the PSSA and Keystone exams. We’re so proud of all the hard work our students have put in to get to this point and can’t wait for them to show us what they know!
Beyond the state and federal requirements, it is important to note that participation in these tests gives us helpful information about each child’s progress and allows us to plan strong instruction for next year.
Please encourage your child to do their best. On testing days, we’ve asked teachers to keep things light and focused. You can help by making sure your child gets a good night’s sleep, arrives on time, and has a healthy breakfast at home or at school.
Testing Schedule
• April 20–22: ELA PSSA
• April 27–28: Math PSSA
• April 29–30: Science PSSA (8th grade only)
• May 13–14: Keystone Algebra (for students in Algebra)
Dr. Lisa Hoffman

QCSD Community Spotlight
Thank You Giant Food Stores
We want to thank our extraordinary community and both Quakertown GIANT Food Stores for supporting the Round-Up program and selecting the Quakertown Community School District as the beneficiary.
Through this program and our community's generosity, the QCSD received $10,149.84 from GIANT, and we are grateful. These funds will be used to purchase three new dishwashers for our school's cafeterias! AND we also want to thank GIANT for their incredible drink donation to our QCHS Mini-thon Fundraiser on Friday, April 17. Through GIANT's generosity, our dancers were hydrated from 6pm - 6am!
Thank you to GIANT and our tremendous community for this amazing gift to our students!
Elementary Explorations
Richland Color Fun Run
Richland Elementary's Color Fun Run is an event that radiates joy. The playground was packed with eager students, family members, and staff, all ready to take to the blacktop and become a running work of art.
There was no shortage of food or fun. Organized by Richland's PTO, the evening included face painting, a robust raffle, treats, music, and of course… COLOR!
The event raised over $12,000—reaching their goal to slime Principal, Dr. Zuerblis, and five teachers!
Dr. Z and five teachers will be slimed next month at a school assembly—and we hear it will be streamed online!
Thank you to our community partners, volunteers, staff, and the incredible Richland PTO for putting on this spectacular event.

QCHS Senior Choir Heads to PMEA
Wishing our QCHS Honors Choir all the best as they head to Kalahari for the 2026 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Annual Conference! On the evening of April 14th, students performed a preview of their PMEA performance for QCHS families, and the audience was blown away. Their voices and performance were spellbinding.
Students received feedback from music directors in the audience and words of encouragement from Dr. Lisa Hoffman, Interim Superintendent, and Dr. Rachael Urquhart, Quakertown Community High School Director of Bands, at the conclusion of their performance. Special thanks to Ms. Erin Camburn – Director of Choral Activities, for her amazing leadership and direction. Your energy is felt and reflected in our students!
Best of Luck at PMEA – we can’t wait to hear about your experience!

Superintendent Search Community Survey
A successful superintendent search depends on finding the right “fit” between the district and its next superintendent. This requires a clear understanding of the district’s needs and challenges, as well as a well-defined set of desired qualifications.
The Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA) refers to these qualifications and characteristics as the Leadership Profile. This survey was designed to gather representative input from district stakeholders to help shape that profile.
The purpose of the survey is to collect confidential feedback from members of the school community. The summarized results will be shared with the school board and used to guide the selection of the district’s next superintendent.
