2026-2027 Valley View Update
July 9, 2026
A Note From Principal Ketchum
Dear Valley View Families,
I hope you are having a wonderful summer and finding time to enjoy the sunshine!
As we look ahead to the 2026–2027 school year, I wanted to reach out and introduce myself in my new role as principal. Having been part of this school community for many years, I am honored to continue serving our students, families, and staff in a new way. I look forward to partnering with you to make this a successful and rewarding year for every student!
I am reaching out early to share some important information regarding orientations, uniforms, and school supplies. I will send this information again in early August as a reminder.
Additionally, one of our goals at Valley View is to ensure our communication with families is clear, consistent, and easy to access. As we prepare for the new school year, I'd like to share the primary ways we'll communicate and stay connected with you throughout the year.
Monthly school newsletters will be shared to keep families informed about upcoming events, important reminders, and what's happening across grade levels and throughout the school.
Seesaw is one of our primary classroom and school-wide communication tools. Use Seesaw to receive updates, communicate with your child's teacher, and celebrate student learning.
ParentVUE is another important communication tool used at both the elementary and secondary level in our district. ParentVUE allows parents to view bus information, monitor daily attendance and report upcoming absences, see report cards, and more.
Please make sure your contact information is up to date so you do not miss important information and updates.
If you have any questions as we prepare for the new school year, please do not hesitate to reach out. I'm excited to welcome our students and families back in August and look forward to a great year together.
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Sincerely,
Danielle Ketchum
Orientations & Picture Day
Valley View Orientations will be held on August 27 from 2:30 pm-6:00 pm and August 28 from 8:30 am-12:00 pm. By August 16, families will receive an email with their child's teacher for the 26-27 school year and a link to sign up for an Orientation time slot.
Orientations are an important opportunity for families and teachers to begin building relationships and preparing for a successful school year. During Orientations, students will meet their teacher, visit their classroom, and complete benchmark assessments. Families will have the opportunity to order uniforms, complete any required paperwork, update emergency and contact information, and learn more about the upcoming school year.
School pictures will also be taken during Orientations on August 27 and 28, with picture make-ups scheduled for September 24. Please view the flyer below for additional information.
School Supplies
To help ensure every student has the supplies they need for a successful school year, we ask each family to contribute $25 per student for student supplies. By purchasing supplies in bulk, Valley View can provide all required materials while helping keep costs down for families.
Each student should also bring a backpack, headphones, and tennis shoes for PE.
Payments may be made during Orientations or in advance using the link below.
Uniforms
We are excited to share that for the upcoming school year, Valley View will be partnering with a new uniform company. We worked to find a vendor that could offer families more affordable uniform options, while also making it possible to purchase approved uniform pants through the same company. Please note: You may purchase pants elsewhere if you prefer, but school polos must be purchased through the vendor.
Families can use the link below to preorder uniforms. When placing your order, you can choose the delivery option that works best for your family:
- Have your order delivered to school for pickup during Orientation days
- Ship directly to your home for a small fee
- Pick up your order at the uniform shop
We strongly encourage early uniform purchases! Uniforms will be available for purchase at both Orientation days. However, there is no guarantee the vendor will have the sizes needed on hand as they have to guess on the inventory. You don't want your student to be without a uniform on the first day!
As a reminder, our uniform expectations are:
- Navy blue or gold polo, fleece, or performance jacket with the Valley View logo
- Khaki or navy blue pants, skirts, or shorts
- All skirts or shorts must touch the knee
- No jeans, sweatpants, or leggings
- All Hijabs and abayas must be solid navy blue, gold, or khaki. A Valley View top must be worn over the abaya.
- Bandanas and hats may not be worn in the classroom.
- Any solid navy or gold sweater, vest, or cardigan may be worn over the polo (no hoods).
- Solid navy blue, gold, black, or white long sleeve shirts may be worn under the polo.
- Solid navy blue, gold, black, or white tights or leggings may be worn under shorts or skirts.
We appreciate families helping us maintain a consistent uniform expectation across the school as this is a CHPS School Board Policy. Our uniform policy helps create a focused, respectful learning environment and ensures that students come to school dressed and ready to learn each day.
Please click on the link below and begin ordering. Keep in mind, uniforms can take up to two weeks to arrive so don't delay in ordering!
