A Note from Mr. Headrick
October: Bullying Prevention and Kindness
October is National Bullying Prevention Month, and at Park Creek we want to take this time to highlight the importance of building a safe and welcoming environment for every child. Our goal is to ensure that every student feels accepted, valued, and supported, and this month serves as a reminder that kindness and respect are the foundations of that safe environment.
Prevention truly begins with awareness and action. As parents, teachers, and students, we all play a part in noticing when something is not right, stepping in with compassion, and encouraging children to use their voices when they need help. We can also set an important example by being patient and responsive when challenges arise, rather than overreacting. This helps children learn how to handle conflict in calm, constructive ways. By teaching them to stand up for one another, to celebrate differences, and to reach out to those who may feel left out, we strengthen the sense of community that makes Park Creek such a special place.
Just as important as prevention is the act of spreading kindness. Small gestures like sharing a smile, offering to help, or inviting a classmate to join in can make a huge difference in a childβs day. When kindness becomes the norm, students are more likely to follow that example. This October, we invite our families to join us in encouraging kindness at home, at school, and in our community. Together, we can ensure that Park Creek continues to be a place where all students belong, believe in themselves, and build better futures.

π Student Celebration Guidelines π
We love celebrating special moments with our students! Parents are welcome to send cupcakes or a small treat for the entire class to enjoy after lunch or recess in honor of their childβs birthday. To help us keep the day running smoothly, please coordinate with your childβs teacher in advance if you plan to send a birthday treat.
We kindly ask that you do not send balloons, large decorations, or party favors, as we are unable to accommodate these during the school day. While we do not hold birthday parties during instructional time, weβll be sure to make your child feel celebrated in a fun and meaningful way.
Thank you for partnering with us to create a joyful and focused learning environment!
