4K in October
Families can help at home by
- Encouraging independence - "first you try, then I'll help", letting your kiddos walk into preschool on their own (please don't carry them into school), letting them carry their own backpacks, etc.
- Creating consistent morning and evening routines - try to create a morning routine that is not rushed; it'll be easier in the long run for everyone.
- Limiting the amount of screen time your child is engaging in - read books with them, carve out time for them to explore books/puzzles on their own as well, have them help you set the table for dinner, etc.
The weather has been so beautiful - I hope you're enjoying the outdoors as much as possible! ;)
Great Lakes is featured this month!
Great Lakes 4K - Melissa Riedasch
Welcome to 4K at Great Lakes Elementary! It has been so much fun learning and playing at school so far this fall. We have been very busy learning the rules and routines of our classroom and are getting really good at making friends all while exploring our environment through play! We are working on managing our feelings & trying to figure out ways to solve problems using our problem solving strategies. We have been moving our bodies by dancing our wiggles out with GoNoodle.com. We have been learning to identify parts of our bodies, noticing the difference between big and little things and learning how to take turns with new games! Our sensory table has been filled with hay, beans and rice. We just started learning all about the farm and all of the animals that live there!. We love getting outside for fresh air and have enjoyed being able to have fun on our playground and draw with sidewalk chalk! We can’t wait to see what awesome things we get to do next!
Attendance in 4K
If your child is sick, please keep them home, however, PLEASE notify your child's teacher.
