I'm not sure how things felt in your house, but this has felt like the fastest August I can remember! It's hard to believe we are heading into September. Your kids are doing amazing as we are now back into routine. It's so fun seeing them get into routine for a new year of learning so many new things. Shout out to our parents who are rocking the car rider line each day as well. Great job to all! September will bring a lot of fun to the elementary as we have several activities. Family Fun Night will be on September 16th from 5:30 to 7:00 and will feature the book fair, the school bounce house, food trucks, a cake walk, and we will open up the playground. There will also be a giant basket raffle featuring tons of great items! Later that week on the 18th, we will have our first skate night at Gibson's Arena. Everyone is welcome to come skate and we thank Dowling Dumpster for sponsoring this event! I'm thrilled to announce our first ever Camp Tecumseh field trip for 5th grade was fully funded by generous donors. That says a lot about our great community and we are so thankful for those who donated. Here's to a great second month of school. Thanks for all you do.

Walk a Thon Fundraiser!

The 2025 Walk a Thon will be held on Friday, October 24th. We will hold a school-wide kickoff in right before fall break so look for information coming home soon!

Fazoli's

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Fazoli's "Eat For Funds" night. PTO received $115 for the evening. Great job, Warriors!

Book Fair is Coming!

The Book Fair will be coming the week of September 15th. Look for information coming soon and be sure to stop by and shop on the evening of Family Fun Night!

5th Grade Camp Tecumseh Trip - Fully Funded!

5th grade is heading to a Camp Tecumseh Trip in late September for an overnight adventure. Thanks to our generous donors, the trip is fully funded. Thank you so much to all who donated!

WD Backpack Buddies Program:

Our Backpack Buddies program is designed to support students in our school who are experiencing food insecurity by providing them with food to take home each Friday. Each participating student receives a bag containing two breakfasts, two lunches, two snacks and one dinner intended to be shared with their family. Our hope is to ensure that children return to school nourished and ready to learn. To keep this program running, we rely on the generous donations of our community members. If you are interested in supporting this important program donations can be made to the Wes-Del Elementary PTO and designated for Backpack Buddies.

Scheduled 2 Hour Delays

Mark your calendars - here is the list of our scheduled 2 hour delays which are used for teacher professional development:

Sept. 17, Oct. 17, Nov. 19, Jan. 21, Feb. 18, and Apr. 15.

Scheduled E Learning Days

October 21st and April 3rd are scheduled E Learning Days.

Chromebook Insurance

Chromebook insurance is available for the low cost of $40. This is much less than the cost of most repairs. Chromebook Insurance is highly recommended. Please contact Mr. Hoff (bhoff@wes-del.org) or the front office for more information.

We have two easy and convenient ways to earn money for WDES - the Box Tops for Education App and PayLess/Kroger Rewards.

For Box Tops - go to https://www.boxtops4education.com/s/ and select Wes-Del. You simply scan your receipt and it automatically credits the school.

For PayLess/Kroger - go to www.kroger.com and click on Kroger Community Rewards. Add Wes-Del Elementary PTO or enter code QU330.

Breakfast is Free, Lunch is Not

Students may eat breakfast for free if they choose. Lunch is $2.60 (unless you qualify for free/reduced). Please be sure to keep money in your child's lunch account. Free and Reduced lunch applications are available in the office.
