A Message from the Principal
Dear JSC Community,
Read Across America Week is the perfect time to come together and celebrate the joy of reading! We would like to thank all of the guest readers who volunteered to read to our students last week. We had over 100 guest readers! Shout out to all students, staff, parents, guardians, families, and friends who helped us celebrate during our weeklong spirit week in honor of Read Across America! The Morning Splash
The JSC Morning Splash gives students and staff at JSC a 'splash' of news and fun each and every morning. Here are some fun facts about The Morning Splash:
- The Morning Splash is a pre-recorded morning news program, complete with news anchors, program segments, and special guests.
- The Morning Splash is produced and coordinated by JSC's Library Media Specialist, Ms. Moore.
- 4th grade students serve as the news anchors (hosts). New hosts are selected every other week, based on interest and positive behaviors. Students in all grade levels are invited to participate.
- The Morning Splash has its own YouTube Channel. (Be sure to subscribe so you don't miss your daily splash of JSC fun!)
- The Morning Splash has daily / special segments which include:
- Birthdays
- National Days / Special Events
- Lunch Menu
- PBIS Tip of the Day
- Getting to Know...
- 30 Seconds to...
- Wake up with Rhys
- Academic Updates
- Jokes, Trivia, Awards, Announcements, etc.
- JSC students are encouraged to share segment ideas with Ms. Moore! The segment 'Wake up with Rhys' started because a kindergarten student suggested a "Wake Up with Me Dance" idea.
