Brown Elementary Update

October 31, 2025
A note from the principal
Greetings Brown Families and Caregivers,
It has been a busy two weeks at Brown School with the Wicked Fun Run, Fall Food Drive, Halloween Parade and grade 3 field trip to Plimoth Pawtuxet. Huge kudos to our amazing PTO, under the leadership of Kelley McArdle and Sarah McNeeley for hosting the Wicked Fun Run last Sunday. It was so great to see so many families enjoying the festivities together!
As the new principal at Brown Elementary I am seeking your feedback to inform my entry planning. Please provide your feedback on this brief survey by December 1st. Your feedback will help inform my vision for the leadership of Brown School in the upcoming months and years.
In partnership,
Dr. Johanna Even
Principal
Caregiver Conferences
Caregiver conferences are scheduled for Wednesday November 5 and Wednesday November 19th. Conferences are a great opportunity to connect with your child's teacher and learn more about their progress so far this year. If you have not already scheduled your conference, please reach out to your child's classroom teacher.
Natick Service Council Food Drive
Brown families donated 2061 items to the food drive for Natick Service Council. We far surpassed our goal of 1000 items. Thank you all for your engagement in this opportunity to demonstrate our core value of Practice Empathy as a community. There will be a special surprise from Dr. Even next week to celebrate this accomplishment.
Natick Food Resources
Please see the flyer below for food resources available in the community. Please use this link to access live links and translations.
Summer Reading Challenge
Congrats to the 47 Brown students who completed the summer reading challenge! They got to have their picture taken with Brownie to celebrate their hard work!
PAWSitive Office Referrals
Congratulations to the students who earned PAWSitive office referrals for demonstrating our PAWS core values in the last two weeks: Isaac in Ms. Kelleher's class, Tommy in Ms. Culverhouse's class, Caroline in Ms. Tilden's class, Tory in Ms. D'Agnelli's class, Greyson in Ms. Cirrone's class, Arya in Ms. McGinty's class, Maya in Ms. Persechini's class, Dax in Ms. Blake's class, Lucas in Ms. MacInnes' class, and Katie in Ms. Gagne's class.
Renaissance Assessment Reports
Kindergarten Families Only
Kindergarten families will receive their child’s Renaissance Reports during Parent/Teacher Conferences in November, rather than by mail as in other grades. This change allows teachers to review results with families in person and answer any questions right away. Families who are unable to attend conferences in person will have their reports mailed home following the conference dates. The following videos provide an overview to the reports that will be shared at parent/teacher conferences:

Title 1 Family Information Night
Thank you to the families who joined us for the Title I Family Information Night to learn more about the program and resources that support student learning. Attendees explored ways to engage with their children’s education and connect with school staff. Thank you to everyone who participated in this informative evening! Here are the slides and the brochure. (Folder of Translated Slides and resources).
Notes from the Nurse
Colder weather is coming! A reminder to make sure to send seasonally appropriate indoor and outdoor clothing. Students may get wet during outside play and having dry clothing will help them be more comfortable in school. Thank you!
