TWELFTH ANNUAL TRUNK OR TREAT, OCTOBER 31, 2024
WHAT IS “TRUNK-OR-TREAT”?
Trunk-Or-Treat is an event that is sure to provide fun for all! Volunteers participate by parking and decorating their cars (or trucks) in order to hand out goodies to the students.
HOW IT WORKS
The students will start their parade of costumes at 12:30 P.M on October 31, 2024. Classrooms will be escorted along the route of decorated “Trunk-Or-Treat” vehicles who will pass out candy and goodies.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Sign up beginning today, October 15, 2024 on the google form below. There are seventy five (75) spots available. It is first come, first serve. You MAY NOT sign up another individual.
Please arrive no later than 11:30 A.M. in order to park and decorate your vehicle. ALL vehicles must be parked by 11:30 A.M. to ensure student safety. If you sign up, please understand that you are obligated to stay the entire time.
Put on your creative thinking caps! Decorate in Halloween or Festive Fall themes using bats, pumpkins, spiders, Disney characters or movie themes…but not scary stuff! Dress up in your best costumes but PLEASE remember nothing too scary for our young students.
If you sign up for a spot, please bring enough candy to serve 400 kids! If you are unable to attend or secure a spot and would like to send in a bag of candy, please submit to the front office by WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2024.
DUE TO ALLERGIES, KINDLY BRING IN CANDY WITHOUT PEANUTS.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION IN OUR
12TH ANNUAL TRUNK-OR-TREAT EVENT!
TRUCK-OR-TREAT COSTUME GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS
Our twelfth annual Trunk-or-Treat event is right around the corner! Students wishing to participate in this school wide event will be allowed to wear costumes to school. Plato Academy has set forth guidelines for all students for Halloween. Please note, if a student does come to school dressed inappropriately, they will be asked to either remove or cover what is inappropriate. If a school remedy is not possible, a parent will be asked to bring a change of clothing to the school before their student is permitted back into class.
We hope the students enjoy the day, but it is still an instructional day and those who desire to celebrate the day will not compromise academics.
· For safety reasons, masks or full-face makeup are not permitted. Any makeup applied should not cover the student’s face in a manner that makes the student unrecognizable nor should 3D special effects makeup be worn. Masks should not be sent into school and are not permitted to be carried by the students.
· Hair should not be dyed or sprayed in unnatural colors permanently. Any temporary hair color must be applied at home, not school.
· No hard-plastic toy or facsimile guns/ weapons (swords, play knives, etc.) are allowed.
· Costumes that are overly graphic, promote violence or otherwise might logically be assumed to be offensive to others are not acceptable. When in doubt, ask Ms. West before purchasing.
· Costumes that are sexually suggestive and would otherwise violate the school’s dress code are not appropriate.
· If students are unclear if their costume will be permitted or has not been clearly addressed by these guidelines, said students should have the costume pre-approved by an administrator prior to wearing to school.
IMPORTANT UPDATES:
-Please bring a shade canopy if you would like for protection from the sun.
-You must be level one cleared to participate.
-We are accepting candy donations for those who would like to participate but can't set up a car.
-We can not hold parking spots for you or your group this year.
PLEASE ARRIVE BY 11:30AM AND BE PARKED NO LATER THAN 11:45AM TO ENSURE STUDENT SAFETY. THE PTO WILL DIRECT YOU TO YOUR PARKING SPOT. PLEASE BE SURE TO HAVE ENOUGH CANDY FOR ALL 400 STUDENTS. DUE TO ALLERGIES, WE ASK THAT YOU KINDLY BRING IN CANDY WITHOUT NUTS. SIGN UP BELOW!
