Hello Woodstock Family!

With the crisp temperatures in the morning and the leaves on the ground, it feels like fall has officially arrived! 🍂

Friday is a busy one -- join the Walk & Roll Committee for a Donut Bike Bus and a special Popcorn Friday! We will have a fun costume swap ahead of Halloween. See below for details. 🍿👻

The PTA's biggest fundraiser of the year is underway. The No Stuff Fundraiser helps us fund field trips, assemblies, classroom supplies, and more! No donation is too small to make a difference. 🏫

Our annual Harvest Carnival is just a little over a week away and we need your help to make it great! We still need volunteers to help create the Haunted House magic, run activities, donate baked goods, and more! There are many different opportunities to get involved. Thank you for helping to make this event a magical night for our students! Find details below. ✨

We hope you have a wonderful week. 🦁💙

Why “No Stuff”?

With no prizes, products, or auction items, there’s no cost or overhead to cover. That means 100% of every donation goes straight to enhancing our students’ school experience this year.

No Stuff is the PTA’s biggest fundraiser and our goal is to raise at least $15,000 for the general fund. If we fall short, we won't be able to provide teachers with extra classroom resources or host the same special events students love.

Every gift helps, no matter the size. Donate today and spread the word!

The Woodstock Elementary PTA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations may be tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Tax ID: 93-6039422.

Help Create the Magic ✨

Step right up to the annual Woodstock Harvest Carnival!

This year, we’re leaning into all things magical, mystical, and mythological! Think fairies, dragons, unicorns, enchanted forests—and, because this is the PNW, of course, Bigfoot!

We’re creating a carnival filled with imagination, childhood wonder, silliness, and just a little bit of mystery, and we need you! Please consider volunteering to help bring this magic to life for our students.

There are many ways to volunteer: planning before the event, donating baked goods, running activities at the event, concessions, check in, helping with clean up, and more! Volunteering is always more fun with friends, so grab a crew and tackle a task.

Fletcher and the Falling Leaves StoryWalk

A new StoryWalk is up and ready to read along the playground fence. This month's book features Fletcher and the Falling Leaves. Fletcher the fox is concerned about nature and wants to understand the changing of the seasons. StoryWalks will be up for about two weeks and families are invited to read the stories with their children before or after school. Teachers will be invited to bring their students to view the StoryWalk as time allows. The Woodstock School StoryWalk Series was funded by the Woodstock PTA.

PPS Has Released Proposed School Closure Scenarios

Portland Public Schools released two proposed "rightsizing" scenarios Monday evening, ahead of Tuesday's Board of Education meeting: Scenario A would close 14 schools; Scenario B would close 11. Both scenarios keep dual language immersion programs running, but relocate or combine them at different sites. Woodstock is not proposed for closure or boundary changes under either scenario, though under both, Woodstock would receive the Mandarin Immersion program currently at Clark Elementary.

A third option — keeping all schools open with no boundary changes — is also on the table. Under this scenario, enrollment continues to decline, and no programs move, including the proposed Mandarin transition from Clark to Woodstock. By the district's own projections, this option would leave only 48% of students in a school at sustainable size, compared to 73–80% under the other two scenarios.

These are proposals, not final decisions — the Board is expected to review community input before a formal recommendation and vote.
