Dear Erickson Families,

Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight at the Back to School Bash. Thank you PTO for organizing!

On Thursday students were engaged in an assembly called BRAIN BREAK that was sponsored by the PTO. The students loved the energy and excitement of the assembly. This was a great way to kick off the school year! Thank you PTO! (By the way, the assembly presenter said Erickson students were an outstanding audience!)

This week all students met with Mrs. Johnston and Mrs. Darland to review the school and bus expectations. Please take time to ask your child what SOAR (safety, ownership, appreciation and respect) stands for. Students should be able to give you examples for each word.

The PTO puts together a PTO Student Directory with the student name, parent name, home address, email address, & phone number. The office will provide this information to the PTO unless we hear otherwise. If you would not like your child's information published, please fill out this PTO Directory Opt Out Form by October 1st.

Parking Reminders: Reminder that there is no parking in the front lot. The front lot is for buses only.

Please review the Arrival and Dismissal Procedures for Kindergarten-5th Grade.

Have a great weekend!

Stacy Johnston

Principal

Next week, all students across all grades at Erickson will participate in our fall MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing. MAP is an adaptive, computer-based assessment in reading and math that adjusts question difficulty based on your child's responses. Because it is tailored to each student, MAP isn't a pass/fail test; instead, it provides our teachers with immediate, valuable insights into what your child knows and what they are ready to learn next. We use these results to track growth throughout the school year.

How Parents Can Help Prepare:

Ensure a Good Night's Sleep: A well-rested brain is ready for focused learning!
Eat a Healthy Breakfast: Fueling up in the morning helps maintain energy and focus.
Encourage Their Best Effort: Remind your Jaguar that MAP is simply a tool to help their teachers know how to help them grow—there is no need to feel nervous!
Arrive on Time: Help your child start the day calmly by arriving at school on time each morning.

Thank you for your partnership in supporting our Eagles as they show off what they know!
