Bobcat BYTE

On Thursday, July 30, we had the privilege of honoring Mr. M. Garza, Rio Hondo ISD's District Secondary Teacher of the Year, as he was recognized at the Region One Education Service Center in Edinburg.

Mr. Garza exemplifies excellence in education through his dedication, leadership, and commitment to student success. His passion for teaching, outstanding character, and unwavering support for students make a lasting impact both inside and outside the classroom. The positive influence he has on his students is evident in the relationships he builds and the success he inspires.

We are incredibly proud of all that Mr. Garza has accomplished and grateful for the difference he makes every day in the lives of our Bobcats.

Please join us in congratulating Mr. Garza on this well-deserved recognition!

Rio Hondo ISD proudly participated in the 2026 GEAR UP Summer Educator Conference, where educators came together to explore innovative strategies, strengthen student support systems, and inspire academic success.

This year's theme, "Making Waves in Learning," challenged participants to think creatively, embrace new opportunities, and create meaningful impacts that help students navigate their paths to college, careers, and lifelong achievement.

Thank you to our dedicated RHISD team for representing Bobcat Nation and continuing to lead with passion, purpose, and a commitment to student success!

Together, we're making waves that will shape the future of learning.

Rio Hondo ISD recently hosted our 2026 Mentorship Training, bringing together dedicated staff committed to supporting, guiding, and empowering one another. Through mentorship, we build stronger connections, foster professional growth, and create a positive impact across our district.

Thank you to all who participated and continue to make RHISD a place where excellence, collaboration, and leadership thrive.
