Remembering Damian Sarrette

Dear NBPS Families, Staff, and Students,

This morning, on the one-year anniversary of his sudden passing, our school community paused for a moment of silence to remember and honor our longtime colleague, teacher, and friend, Damian Sarrette. Damian began his career at North Brookfield High School in the fall of 1999, dedicating more than 26 years to our students, staff, and community. Throughout his time at North Brookfield, he wore many hats: ELA teacher, class advisor, National Honor Society advisor, coach, club advisor, union president, and mentor to countless new teachers. Yet, perhaps his most meaningful role was that of a trusted adult, someone students could turn to for guidance, encouragement, support, or simply someone who would listen.

Mr. Sarrette's impact extended far beyond the classroom. He helped shape the lives of generations of students, supported his colleagues, and contributed in countless ways to the fabric of our school community. Above all, he was a devoted father to his three boys, Luke, Mason, and Avry.

While a year has passed, Damian's absence continues to be felt throughout our district. His legacy lives on through the relationships he built, the students he inspired, and the many lives he touched.

As we remember Damian today, I encourage our school community to reflect on the importance of kindness, connection, and simply being there for one another. Our thoughts remain with Luke, Mason, Avry, and all of Damian's family, friends, and colleagues as we honor his memory.

Once a part of North Brookfield, always a part of North Brookfield. 235 Forever!

Sincerely,

Tim
