Hello Roughrider Families!

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year!!

I hope you have all had a relaxing and restful summer. My name is Dr. Darin Walters. I am excited to start my new role as Principal and ninth year overall as a member of the Rider Family! This summer, school districts across North Dakota began the statewide transition from PowerSchool to Infinite Campus, our new student information system. This is a significant change that will provide improved tools for managing student information and communicating with families. As we work through the implementation process, parent and guardian portal accounts are not yet available. We appreciate your patience as our staff completes the necessary setup and training to ensure a smooth experience for everyone. We will share additional information, including instructions for accessing the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, as soon as it becomes available. Thank you for your understanding and support during this exciting transition.

As we begin another school year at Red River High School, I encourage every student and family to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead. A new year brings a fresh start, new teammates, new classmates, new challenges, and countless chances to grow. Whether you're stepping into our building for the first time or beginning your final year as a Roughrider, make a commitment to be present, get involved, and take advantage of everything this school has to offer.

High school passes by faster than most people expect. The practices, performances, competitions, school events, and everyday moments with friends will soon become some of your favorite memories. Along the way, life may take unexpected turns, so don't wait for the "perfect time" to try something new or get involved. Join a club, attend a game, support your classmates, introduce yourself to someone new, and challenge yourself to step outside your comfort zone. Growth happens when we choose to engage.

As your Athletic Director, I've had the privilege of watching thousands of students discover talents they never knew they had, build lifelong friendships, and develop the character that will serve them long after graduation. My hope for every Roughrider is simple: appreciate where you are, make the most of every opportunity, and enjoy the journey. The destination will come soon enough, but until then, enjoy your RIDE.
