Families and Students,

I want to thank you all once again for the tremendous outpouring of generosity you’ve shown. I am continually amazed at the compassion, empathy, and servant leadership at Science Hill High School.

Here is a recap of some of the things students and staff members have taken part in this week:

Saturday: Members of the SHHS JROTC collected bottled water and other essentials and the Robotics team collected clothing and other items and delivered them to Washington County.

Wednesday: The Science Hill Community collected an enormous amount of supplies. These supplies were delivered to neighboring schools in need. Please know that these supplies have had a huge impact on local regions hit hardest by the devastating flood.

Our Science Hill Culinary Arts program, along with several sports teams, fed local first responders a delicious hot lunch. Some lunches were served at SHHS and others were delivered. Also on Wednesday, staff members volunteered their time throughout the area to assist with donations, delivery, clean-up and other essential services.

Science Hill will continue to support our neighboring schools over the long road to recovery. We will have more opportunities for students to participate in the coming weeks.

Hilltopper Helping Hands Hilltopper Helping Hands

When neighboring communities needed help picking up the pieces after devastating floods caused by Hurricane Helene, Hilltoppers answered the call. Student groups and clubs collected supplies, performed needed services and provided meals to rescue and aid workers. Great job helping our neighbors in need!

The SHHS Bridge Program will be extending its reach to other high schools affected by Helene in Tennessee and North Carolina. For 10 years the program has provided essentials for high school students in need of basic necessities, and we want to make sure all our friends in locations affected have the same support at this challenging time.

Please donate through the Amazon wish list or monetary donation link. The wish list will be updated from time to time as new specific needs arise. The program allows kids to be served anonymously through their guidance counselors. We will be reaching out to the counselors of these schools directly to make sure they know we are here and ready to help.

As always, the PTSA appreciates your help and could not continue its good work without the support of the community. If you are out of the area, and looking for a way to have a direct positive impact, this is it. You are a few clicks away from providing essentials for a student in need. Thank you all!

This effort is powered by Science Hill High School PTSA and the Senior Class of 2025. Please stay tuned for the links and more info on how you can help!

You can support and/or join Science Hill's PTSA by visiting https://sciencehill.givebacks.com/store and clicking "Memberships" in the navigation menu.
