Library Checkout Notifications
Conroe ISD Library Services has enabled checkout notifications, so you know the title of the books your student checked out. These notifications will be sent on days when your student checks out a book from the school library and will only be sent for the initial checkout. Daily notifications will no longer occur for the entire time a book is checked out to a student. State law and board policy do not allow an opt-out option for these notifications. If you have a question or concern about your student’s reading material, please contact your campus librarian.
The Destiny Library Catalog has been updated with the following message as per Local Policy EFB.
Library materials may include objectionable materials. If you would like to restrict access to specific library materials, please complete the Library Access Form.
More information can be found at Conroe ISD Library Services.
Please join us tomorrow evening (11/6) at 6:15 in the Moorhead Jr. High cafeteria to learn about our annual summer Washington D.C. trip.
We would like to make you aware of an opportunity available to your son/daughter this summer. All seventh & eighth grade Moorhead Junior High students are invited to participate in the School Tours of America Washington DC/Virginia trip this upcoming summer. Students will visit many of the places they study about in eighth grade U.S. History. The trip is from May 27th to May 30th of 2026. Students will fly into Washington, DC and visit all memorials, Ford’s Theatre, National Achieves, Smithsonian’s, Capitol Hill, and Arlington National Cemetery. They will also travel to Virginia to see George Washington’s home and Yorktown, the site of the battle that guaranteed our independence from Britain.
The cost of the trip is all inclusive, covering everything except souvenirs. Parents may make payments in installments and there are scholarships available for students who qualify due to a financial need. There is only a $99 deposit required by December 15th to hold your child’s spot. I would love to tell you more about the trip when you come to our parent meeting.

Dismissal Car Rider Pick-up Expectations
Dismissal car rider line
For safety reasons, students will not be allowed to walk across the car rider line to be picked up in the parking lot. All pickups must take place in the designated car rider zone, which begins at the first pillar in front of the building and continues to the stop sign.
Early departure or pick-up change?
Pickup & Transportation Changes
Parents, please call the front office (936-709-6001) if your child’s after-school pickup plans change. Our staff will notify the teacher and provide your child with a pass.
For example, if your child normally rides the bus but will be a car rider, you must call the office.
Early Pickup: Students must be picked up before 3:40 p.m. We cannot release students after this time due to traffic flow. Please call by 3:20 p.m. if you plan to change pickup routines so we have time to notify your child.
School Nurse News
A Note from Nurse Toni
7th graders will be having hearing and vision screenings on November 10-14th. If your student is supposed to currently wear glasses, please help them locate them and remind them to bring them every day that week. If your student does not pass either of the screenings, you will be sent home a letter and receive a phone call notifying you. Thank you for your help with this.
If you do receive a letter and need assistance in obtaining glasses for your student, please reach out to the clinic.

Parents/Guardians:
We are looking forward to a great start of the 2025-26 school year and seeing all of the kids. In order to make sure we get off to a great start, we are asking you to help us with verifying transportation for your child.
· Your child is registered for transportation for next year.
· If this is accurate, you do not need to do anything else.
· If your child will not need transportation for the school year, please email the school’s registrar.
· Please remember that the Approved Board of Trustees Guidelines for transportation are:
o A student must live more than 1 mile from the school.
o The walk to stop distance for the different levels are as follows:
§ Elementary (PK – 4th): 600 feet
§ Intermediate (5th -6th): 600 feet
§ Junior High (7th – 8th): 1200 feet
§ High School (9th – 12th): 2400 feet
Late Bus Registration (Separate from normal bus registration)
Late Bus Registration
Remember to register for Late Bus transportation if you child plans on using this service.
https://apps.conroeisd.net/AlternativeTransportation/
The late buses depart Moorhead at 5:25pm and drop off at designated Satellite locations.
Students involved in extracurricular activities, tutorial programs or after school detention will have the opportunity to utilize our late buses. The following are some important details pertaining to the late bus system. Please read over these new details carefully.
1. Each late bus run will be designated by a color rather than a number.
2. Each late bus will stop at the same designated stops every single day. This new system resembles more of a “Metro” type of system than our previous late bus system.
3. These satellite stops are not intended to be within a short walk to each student’s home, but more of a central place where parents may pick up their children without having to drive all the way to campus.
4. Your student will be given a standardized late bus pass from their teacher in order to ride the late bus.
The teacher will be printing this pass from our View-It system and it will contain all of the information the bus driver will need to drop off your student at the correct location.
5. A student will not be allowed to ride the late bus if they do not have a late bus pass or if it is not signed by a teacher.
6. Also, a student will not be dropped off at any location other than the one that has been assigned to them by View-It which is based on their current address.
6. All satellite stops have been chosen for their safety features (large parking lot for waiting parents), but we do not recommend that students cross any roads or try to walk home from Satellite stops due to dangerous traffic conditions or other dangers that walking home may pose.
7. These satellite spots are subject to change. If for some reason there is a change you will be notified via phone and/or email.

Technology Information - Parent Portal
New Parent Portal Information
We will be opening the new Parent Portal. Inside the portal parents will be able to access Parent Access, Canvas, SeeSaw, and a couple of other Icons so that all the information you need is in one place. We hope that this will help with communication and the ability for parents to help their child.
We are looking forward to a great school year. In an effort to help our parents, we are moving to a Parent Portal for parents to access information about their child. You will login similar to the way your child does for school (similar to the SSO) to access school information. All parents/guardians will need to enroll to create an account. You will need the email address that is in your child’s record. Once you enter the email, you will be prompted to create a password.
Please click Parent Portal Directions for instructions or go to Conroe ISD Webpage then Parents/Students to access the link to the Parent Portal.
We hope that you enjoy this transition to a new and convenient platform.
