Principal Update 5/19/25

Good Morning Memorial Families,

Thank you to all of our families who came and engaged in Specialist Night with your children. We are very proud of the skills that your children are able to acquire through our specials classes under the skillful direction of our amazing teachers. I hope that you enjoyed the time to learn about the work your children are doing in art, music, physical education, technology, and library.

I also want to give a big shout out to our Spanish Immersion teachers for the preparation they put into the performances at MultiCultural Night last Thursday. I think that the singing, dancing, and performances have never been better and the children were so proud. I'd also like to acknowledge the hard work of many of our parents who serve on the Spanish Immersion Advisory board. There is a lot of time and careful planning that goes into this night and it went off without a hitch. I appreciate the involvement of our families in so many events across the school year.

We completed this year's MCAS tests last week, and with the exception of a few make ups, the 2025 testing season is complete. Thank you all for ensuring that your children were here and ready to go each day, we truly appreciate it. The children felt confident and prepared, and that is always our hope when we administer these tests. Scores will be released next fall and you will have score reports mailed home then.

Finally, we have another busy week ahead! Kindergarten and Third Grade head out on field trips to Southwicks Zoo and Old Sturbridge Village, and second graders will showcase their Animal Research Projects on Friday. It is hard not to love this time of year despite how busy it is. I hope you all have an enjoyable week!

Warmly,

Wendy

Mr. Heath is looking for recycled materials again for his instrument making session on our June Inspired Learning Day. He is looking for, in particular, cardboard tubes, plastic containers/tubs, etc. that could be used to build instruments. If you have these items at home and want to send them in with your child, he would appreciate it!
