DMS Delivers
January 31, 2025
Dear DMS Families,
It is hard to believe that February is approaching and our vacation is already only a few weeks away. As a reminder, school vacation will take place from February 17th to February 21st. We will resume on February 24th.
With that, and in the event that you missed last week's newsletter, I am including the MCAS information again, as it will be here before we know it. Below you will find further information on our Spring MCAS dates. You will notice that 7th and 8th grade students will be testing on the same days this year. In addition, our STE testing will take place prior to Math, and 8th grade students will take the Civics exam as well. We ask that students try their best to be in school on their testing days, as make- up days can be challenging. While make- up days do model a similar environment, students also must miss class for the make- up exam, which may put them further behind in their classes and cause unnecessary stress. It is best to participate on the days that their whole grade level is testing. Thank you in advance for your support during our testing season. We do understand that things may come up, so please just reach out to the Main Office if this is the case.
In addition, our annual Winter Wonderland will take place on Thursday, February 13th. Further details can be found below regarding this event, as well as for ordering a t-shirt for the PTO sponsored Color Run. You will also find information on ordering a DMS Yearbook and volunteering for our Spring Career Day, as well as the January Wellness Newsletter, and various fliers from the community.
Have a great weekend!

Please feel free to share the link with family, friends, relatives, etc. who might be interested in presenting. If you have any questions at all, please contact Aaron Andrade, DMS School Counselor, at aandrade@drregional.org or (508) 669-4200 ext. 2305.
Congratulations Fright Club Winners
Dighton Middle School is thrilled to announce the selection of 6 exceptional entries for our spine-tingling writing contest, Fright Club! These eerily talented young authors have crafted stories that will send shivers down your spine, with each entry limited to just 100 words. Their chilling tales will be featured in Fright Club - The Forgotten, a special edition of Young Writers' upcoming publication, set to be released this April.
A huge congratulations to our brilliantly creative writers—get ready for a hauntingly good read! And, thank you to Mrs. Rose for facilitating this for students.

DMS Breakfast/Lunch Menu
Reminder to Families
Dear DR Families,
As you may know, Massachusetts now provides free breakfast and lunch for all students across the Commonwealth!
We are encouraging families who may have qualified for the National Free & Reduced School Lunch Program in the past to complete the online application. This helps determine eligibility and ensures that we can continue to offer reduced or waived fees for various programs and activities. When completing the application, please remember to include consent for sharing your status with relevant departments and programs.
Without this qualification and your consent, we will be unable to provide reduced or waived fees.
Thank you for your cooperation!
Technology Repair Fees
Dear Families,
We hope this message finds you well. As part of our commitment to maintaining our technology resources, we wanted to inform you about our updated repair fee structure. This will go into effect on October 28, 2024. These fees help us cover the cost of repairs when school-issued devices are damaged due to misuse or carelessness. The fees are divided into three tiers, depending on the extent of the damage:
- Level 1: Charger, Cover (top or bottom), Touchpad, etc- $40
- Level 2: Keyboard, Monitor- $75
- Level 3: Total Loss/Replacement- $300
We encourage students to handle their devices with care to avoid any damage and the associated costs. If a device does require repair, the appropriate fee will be communicated to you along with the steps to resolve the issue.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support in keeping our technology in great condition!
In addition, if your child needs Chromebook repairs, you will receive an email directly from mySchoolBucks regarding payment.
