Cold and flu season is beginning early again this year, please help us stop the spread of illnesses!

Should your child stay home? Children who exhibit the following symptoms should stay at home:

  • Fever of 100 or above
  • Rash
  • Diarrhea or vomiting
  • Persistent cough or thick green/yellow discharge
  • Any symptoms that prevent him/her from participating in school activities, such as: excessive tiredness or lack of appetite; productive coughing or sneezing; headache, body aches, earache or sore throat. If your child has a fever of 100 or above, rash, diarrhea, vomiting, persistent hacking cough, or thick green or yellow discharge they should not attend school

Please call the preschool office and leave a message to let staff know your child is sick and will not be at school. You can also email/message your child's teacher to let them know your child will be absent. Alternatively, if your child arrives to school with any of the above symptoms, a parent or guardian will be called to pick their child up from school. Students may return to school when they are symptom free for 24 hours without medication.

Students with doctor or other medical appointments are excused from school. Parents should call the office or email/message the teacher to let them know the student will be absent.

Students should pack a snack and water bottle daily. Foods such as grapes should be cut up as a preventative measure for choking hazards. Microwaves are not available for preschool students.

Preschool Snack Ideas:

  • Apple slices
  • Banana
  • Crackers
  • String cheese
  • Pretzels

Lil' Raiders enjoy snack with their peers daily within the classroom! This small part of the day allows students to practice Social Skills and Communication Skills while conversing with their friends at the table. Students are also able to practice their Independence and Self-Care Skills as they feed themselves, manage their belongings & garbage, open up packages & containers, and clean up themselves & their space. All of these amazing things happen in just a short time frame of about 10-15 minutes!
