Convocation ofLearning Tips, Tricks, & Good News at Schoolcraft CS V35

SBG Edition

This Convocation of Learning is meant to be a warehouse of some best practices for Standards-Based Grading. Some examples are from your own peers while others are from the numerous resources explored by CIA and administration. Even if your class/content is not yet diving into SBG there should be something for everyone here in regards to 'best practices' and giving top-notch feedback to students!

Single Point Rubrics

Here is a cute example of a Bed in Breakfast rubric. When your loved ones receive this rubric, it will include your written comments on one or both sides of each category, telling them exactly how they fell short (“runny eggs,” for example) and how they excelled (“vase of flowers”). Just like with a traditional 4pt rubric, if a target was simply met, you can just highlight the appropriate phrase in the center column.

How does this fit Schoolcraft Standards? Just ask Matt and we'll feature you in the next Convocation of Learning!

5 Pitfalls to Avoid in SBG

I think we're well on our way to missing these pitfalls but we can never be too careful! Check out the list HERE.
