Principal's Message
Dear Bear Creek High School Students and Families,
As we head into the final stretch of the school year, we are excited to celebrate our seniors and enjoy our final Spirit Week and Goodbye Rally this Friday. These traditions, along with Friday evening’s Powder Puff game for Bear Creek students and families, are opportunities for us to come together, strengthen our school community, and create lasting memories. We encourage all students to participate with positivity, school pride, and respect for one another.
While we celebrate, it is equally important that we remain focused on finishing the year strong both academically and behaviorally. AP Exams, finals, and major projects are quickly approaching, and preparation starts now. Please make sure students are getting plenty of rest, staying organized, and coming to school ready to do their very best each day.
A reminder to our seniors and families that all academic assignments, finals, and projects must be completed by this Friday. We are proud of the hard work and perseverance shown by the Class of 2026 and look forward to celebrating all they have accomplished in the weeks ahead.
Let’s make this final Spirit Week one filled with energy, pride, responsibility, and unforgettable moments. Go Bruins!
In Community,
Julie Hummel
Principal, Bear Creek High School

Library Due Dates
SENIORS:
RETURN Textbooks: May 11th-15th
You are responsible for returning all resources and clearing your library account for BEFORE graduation, in order to receive your diploma and official transcript. Most books from previous years automatically generate a fine, but once these books are returned, the fine will be deleted. If you have books from other sites, you may return them here.
Return Chromebooks May 15th Gov/Econ:
Please check your Chromebook for damage. If it needs any repairs or is missing a barcode, bring it to the library before May 15 for a replacement. Clean the device (inside and out) and remove all stickers. Make sure it is fully charged and bring your charger when returning it. A $30 fine will be charged for any lost or unreturned chargers.
9TH-11H GRADERS:
RETURN:
11th: May 18th US History Class
10th: May 19th World History Class
9th: May 22nd English Class
As a class, you will then come to the library to return ALL your textbooks and novels. If you miss that date, you can continue your assigned Chromebook, however, is NOT due until you graduate or leave the district. You are to keep it over summer and bring it with you when school resumes in the fall.
2026-2027 Textbook Opt Out Form:
Please complete the form below if you would prefer not to check out textbooks during orientation for the 2026–2027 school year. Students will still have access to textbooks online and in their classrooms (class sets). If a textbook is needed later in the year, it can be checked out from the library at any time. Please note that lost or damaged textbooks may result in fines ranging from $100 to $300, which must be paid before graduation.

Student Chromebook
In order to make our student accounts more secure, LodiUSD has begun a two step verification process when they log into their Chromebook.
We had all students choose their two step verification this past week. Some students discovered that this made logging into their Chromebook at home difficult. LodiUSD Technology department has provided these directions to help resolve that problem.

No-Go List
No-Go List Purpose for Bear Creek Students
Students at Bear Creek HS can be put on a No-Go List for numerous reasons, including, but not limited to: tardiness, misbehavior, defiance, etc.
The purpose of the No-Go List is to ensure that students complete their assigned interventions. Before a student is placed on the No-Go List, they will be allowed to correct their behavior through their assigned intervention, such as detention or On-Campus Intervention.
An example: a student is assigned a detention for disrespectful behavior, tardiness, cutting, etc. The student will be given a two-day opportunity to serve their detention because detention is only served on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If the student fails to serve their detention, the student will be placed on the No-Go List until their detention is served. This means the student will not be allowed to attend any school event until the student detention is served for whatever infraction the student committed.
CalKIDS Program
CalKIDS is a California State initiative that provides funds for college or career training after high school through the State’s Children Savings Account Program. The Program automatically establishes CalKIDS college savings accounts on behalf of children born in California on or after July 1, 2022 from $25 to $175, and for eligible school-aged participants, designates at least $500 to low-income public school students in grades 1-12 for their higher education expenses. CalKIDS will also provide an additional $500 to students who are identified as either foster or homeless. Enrollment is automatic, and families are not required to contribute.
The ScholarShare 529 Program is California’s Official College Savings Plan which offers families a diverse set of investment options, tax-deferred growth, and withdrawals free from state and federal taxes when funds are used for qualified higher education expenses. Opening a ScholarShare 529 account and linking it to a CalKIDS account can help families expand their growth potential of college savings.
If you have any questions about scholarship opportunities, please visit the Career Center information in our SMORE or contact Janet Ford in our Career Center.
📣 Google Classroom Guardian Emails Now Synced with Aeries
You may have already noticed—guardian email invitations in Google Classroom are now automatically synced with the Aeries database.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Only guardians listed as Educational Rights Holders in Aeries are invited to receive weekly email summaries from Google Classroom.
- Manual guardian entries are no longer allowed. The list is fully controlled by the Aeries sync and updates nightly.
- If a guardian isn’t receiving the invitation, please direct them to contact the school office to update their information in Aeries.
- Guardians who wish to stop receiving emails can simply delete the invitation.
Please do not advise them to click “unsubscribe,” as that will not stop Google from resending the invitation. - Guardian summaries include:
- Missing work
- Upcoming work
- Recent announcements, assignments, and questions
- A preview link to Google Classroom
- Note: Grades, comments, and student attachments are not included.

ID Cards
Everyone must have their ID card when on campus
Campus safety and security is our priority. Admin and Campus Security check that all students have their physical ID card in order to enter campus. If a student doesn't have their ID card upon entering campus, we will print them a new one and charge their student account $5 for the replacement. Students who have forgotten their ID card more than twice will be placed on contract.

Have you ever lost it for no apparent reason? Do you ever feel overwhelmed and completely shut down? That's your stress response system going off too often.
