Edison Families,

It is with great excitement that I welcome you to the 2026–27 school year as the new Principal of Edison Elementary School! I am incredibly honored to have the opportunity to serve the Edison students, families and staff.

As Principal, my priority is to ensure every student is challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential. I look forward to spending time in all classrooms, partnering with teachers, and providing feedback that helps all learners continue to grow and thrive. I am also committed to supporting students' social-emotional development by helping them build the skills to handle challenges, manage big emotions, and develop resilience. I plan to be visible, approachable and accessible to students, staff and families.

This school year marks my 24th year in education. I began my career as a first-grade teacher in the Chicago Public Schools. After 10 years in Chicago, my family moved back to northeast Wisconsin, where I accepted a first-grade teaching position in the Oshkosh Area School District. I spent four years in first grade and then transitioned into the role of Instructional Support Specialist, where I provided interventions for struggling students and coached teachers on instructional practices to help all students succeed. From there, I joined the Berlin Area School District as an Assistant Principal for four years before coming to the Appleton Area School District in 2024. I am thrilled to begin my third year in AASD and my first year as Principal of Edison.

A little about me, personally—I have been happily married to my wonderful wife, Anna, for 19 years. Together we have three children; Monroe (13), Lennon (11), and Nevi (7). Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, watching my students in their various sports (soccer, baseball, dance, hockey), cheering on Wisconsin sports teams and am also a lifelong Chicago Blackhawks fan. I stay active by coaching my sons' hockey teams and playing hockey myself in a Sunday night league as well as with friends on Tuesday evenings.

Please know that I am always available to support you whenever needed. I value open communication and look forward to partnering with you to make this a successful and memorable school year. I look forward to meeting many of you Thursday at the Back to School Bash!

Parents can select More from the menu, then choose Online Registration. Please note that user names and passwords can be reset through the "Forgot Username" or "Forgot Password" link on the IC Parent Portal login page.

New Families:

New families or families re-entering AASD after enrolling in another district or homeschool program, will need to complete the Online Registration through the AASD website at the following link. The registration can be completed on a computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone.

On Wednesday, August 26th, you will have access to your child's teacher assignment in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal, click on Schedules. A list will also be posted at our Back to School Bash.

Please plan to join us on Thursday, August 27th!

• 3:30pm - All Kindergarten families can start the event in the Multi-Purpose Room meeting Kindergarten teachers and learning about the Kindergarten day. You will then be able to take your child's school supplies to the classroom. Finally please join the fun on the playground with all the events listed on the flier below.
• 4:00-5:15pm - All 1st grade through 5th grade families are welcome to meet their teachers and bring school supplies to the classroom during this timeframe.
• 4:00-6:00pm - Please join the fun on the playground with all the events listed on the flier below.

• Students should be in their classroom seat by 8:27am. If your child will be late or absent, please call our office at 920-852-5460 to report this or complete the attendance section on the parent portal. If arriving after 8:22am, students must enter through the office.
• Student fees of $30 have been added to your parent portal. These can be paid with a credit card on the portal or with cash/check in the school office.
• Our dismissal bell is at 3:20pm. Please greet your student on the playground.

Great news! Edison will continue to offer free healthy breakfasts and lunches for the 2026-27 school year. We still ask all families to complete the Meal Benefit Form or Alternate Household Income Form as part of your online registration as this will help us with Title I funding and grants.

3-5 Year Old Developmental Screenings (flyer): Free screenings are available by appointment for children ages birth to five living in the Appleton Area School District attendance area. If you have questions or would like to schedule a screening, please contact Sharon at 920-832-6109 or visit our website for more information.

Meet My Milestones: This class supports parents of 3–4-year-old children who may want more resources and opportunities to work with their child on speaking, listening, thinking, social and motor skills. Since parents are their children’s first teachers, this class empowers parents to engage and learn with them through teacher-led activities and play to foster learning, create friendships, and teach skills that will support school readiness. Registration required - We require a familiar adult to accompany each child in the class and are encouraged to play along with them. You must live in the AASD attendance area to participate.
