A Message from Principal Daliposki
Dear PS 199 Families,
Welcome back, and Happy New Year! I hope you and your family enjoyed a restful and joyful December Recess. As we begin January 2026, I’m excited to reconnect and continue the important learning we started earlier this school year.
As we begin the new year, we will focus on building strong routines and setting goals that support continued growth. This time allows students to reflect, refocus, and move forward with purpose and confidence.
We are also excited to share that before and after-school clubs will begin on January 20th. Permission slips will be sent home this week with additional details for families.
During January, students will also be taking the Universal Screeners, which are mandated by NYC Public Schools. These assessments help provide information about students’ academic skills and support teachers in planning instruction that meets students’ needs. The screeners are just one of many tools we use to better understand how to support student learning and growth. Results will be used to guide instruction and, when appropriate, provide additional supports.
We’re pleased to share that Kamar Samuels has been appointed as the new Chancellor of New York City Public Schools (NYCPS). We look forward to his leadership and continued focus on supporting students, families, and our school community.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. I’m looking forward to a positive and productive start to 2026.
Warm regards,
Mr. Daliposki
