Academic Application Updates

Most academic applications are now syncing and have updated rosters/information.

Updated applications:

• ALEKS/Reveal Math (Math 1, Math 2, Math 3)
  
• We are currently working with McGraw Hill to remove all your old courses from your Dashboards. Thank you for your patience as we work on this issue.
• Canvas (all grade levels)
  
• Carnegie (World Language)
• Hapara (all grade levels)
  
• Heggerty (TK-5)
• HMH (K-5)
• i-Ready (all grade levels)
• Paper (3-12)
• STEMscopes content is available for teachers who were rostered last year. STEMscopes is working to get all new staff members and updated rosters in the system as quickly as possible and apologizes for the delay.
  
• StudySync (6-12 ELA and 9-12 History)
• We are currently working with McGraw Hill to remove all your old courses from your Dashboards. Thank you for your patience as we work on this issue.
• TCI (TK-8 Social Studies/History)
  
• Zaner Bloser (2-5)

If you are having issues logging into or accessing any of the above applications, please submit a Help Desk ticket and select Academic Apps as your issue.

These apps are all available via Canvas through the McGraw Hill SSO link in the Navigation bar. Once you click on the link, you will be taken to your Dashboard where you will see your class tiles.

Please note: Reveal Math/ALEKS is only available to Math 1, 2, and 3. Please do not create manual courses using this platform. Any manually created classes will be removed.

To link your courses in Canvas so you can assign and grade work, please pair your courses by following the steps below:

1. Navigate to the course you want to pair
2. Click on your Modules in the navigation menu
3. Click on the three dots in the top right corner and select McGraw Hill LTI link
4. A window will appear with your course listed. Select Pair
5. Select the content you want to Pair and then on Save Pairing.

Some learners need extra support to develop their digital citizenship skills. That’s why Hāpara Highlights now allows educators to close and also block an off-task website a learner has open. Educators can now block the website for a specified period of time, helping learners stay focused.

How educators can use this for learning:

• Block an off-task tab for the duration of an assessment
• Block a game URL that continues to distract a learner
• Block an off-task tab during an independent class activity
• Block an off-task tab during class presentations

When you log into HMH for the first time, it may prompt you to select your Reading Programs. You will want to add your specific program(s) so you have immediate access to it, but you will still be able to access other grade levels if needed.

Heggerty has many resources available to teachers, including:

• Elementary students now have access to Fluency Flight to build Math fluency
• Diagnostic Window is now open for Math and Reading
• Many teachers are finishing up or have just finished the first diagnostic for Reading and/or Math. We no longer have access to personalized instruction for Reading. Teachers do, however, still have Tools for Instruction, as well as all the Reading reports and Literacy Tasks. Math continues to remain the same.

Paper Tutoring is available for all students grades 3-12. Paper's new suite of features allow teachers to provide more context than ever before. With teachers now being able to provide detailed instruction and attachments, you can paint a more accurate picture of the assignment and students’ learning needs. Teachers and students can access Paper via Clever.

• Teachers will now create assignments within Canvas instead of in TCI.
• Teachers do not need to complete additional setup in TCI anymore:
  • Connecting their TCI account to Canvas
  • Connecting their TCI classes to Canvas course sections
  • Connecting their TCI students to Canvas accounts
• Students must click on the assignment link in Canvas in order for grade passback to work.
• The app is called TeachTCI LTI 1.3 instead of just TeachTCI or TCI Login in Canvas.

STEMscopes is now updated and syncing properly. If you continue to have issues accessing the platform, please submit a Help Desk ticket and select Account/Application > Academic Apps as the issue.
