DFP Family Update
June 12, 2026
Dear Feeney Families,
It is hard to believe that the end of the school year is already upon us. Over the past months, we have witnessed tremendous growth in each and every child, and there is so much to celebrate. While it is always bittersweet to say goodbye to our students, we know they are ready to spread their wings and soar.
Your support, partnership, and trust have been essential to your child's success. We are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside you, and we truly could not do this important work without your collaboration and guidance.
With just a few short days remaining, we plan to treasure every moment together. Our students are enjoying this special time with their friends as they create lasting memories and celebrate all they have accomplished.
Have a great weekend, and we look forward to seeing everyone on Monday.
Please be sure to read the schedule below regarding next week. Preschool is a bit different from the rest of the district. If you have any questions, please email me directly.
Warm regards,
Julie Martin
The Week of June 15 - SCHEDULE FOR DFP
Looking Ahead:
Monday, June 15: Regular schedule day for all students at DFP
Tuesday, June 16: Early Release at 11:00 am and LAST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR THOSE STUDENTS WHO DO NOT ATTEND DFP ON WEDNESDAYS
Wednesday, June 17: LAST DAY OF PRESCHOOL - usual schedule for all students who come on Wednesdays, dismissal at 11:00 am

Reminder June 16 is an Early Release Day at 11:00 AM due to FIFA
School Committee approved an early release day on June 16. June 16 will now be observed as an early release day, and all schools will dismiss at their regular early dismissal time. This adjustment reflects the unique scale of this (the FIFA World Cup) international event and is not reflective of typical stadium-related activities.
Daniel Feeney Preschool will dismiss at 11:00am
Summer Construction at Walpole High School
Due to extensive construction, renovation, and paving projects taking place at Walpole High School this summer, the entire campus will be closed to the public from June 29 through August 20.
During this period, there will be no public access to any part of the high school property, including:
- The high school buildings
- Athletic fields and grounds
- The track
- Tennis courts
For safety and security reasons, fencing will be installed along Common Street, and signage will be posted throughout the site.
Popsicle Event for Rising Kindergarten Students
Dear Families of Rising Kindergarten Students,
Your DFP student will be heading to Kindergarten soon! To help support this exciting transition, I invite you and your child to join us for a Popsicle on the Playground event. This will be a wonderful opportunity for children to connect with classmates who will be attending the same elementary school, while families have a chance to meet and celebrate this important milestone together.
If your student will be attending Old Post Road School or Elm Street School, please come on Monday, June 15 at 5:00.
Bring the whole family; I hope to see you there.
Report Cards and Progress Reports
Report cards and progress reports will be available for viewing on your Aspen account on June 17, 2026.
DFP Playground Update
Our new playground is scheduled to be installed this summer (see the rendering below)! This exciting project was made possible through the collaborative support of the School Department and private fundraising efforts. The total cost of the project is approximately $175,000.
Fundraising efforts are ongoing to support additional enhancements, including shade structures and other playground features that will further enrich the experience for our students. We look forward to watching our children play, explore, and create lasting memories in this wonderful new space.
A special thank you to Yerardi Landscaping and Design for their collaboration and generosity throughout this project. Their support with wall installation and surface leveling has been instrumental in preparing the site for the new playground installation. We are deeply grateful for their partnership in helping bring this exciting space to life for our students.
