We are officially in the 4th 9 weeks of school.

In many ways, this time of the year is the busiest time of year. Over the next weeks, we will have a variety of events taking place, so please keep an eye out on what is happening at YHS/MS.

If your child is a candidate for Summer School, we will also be getting in contact with you soon to give you this information.

We want to thank the folks at ICEV for donating a plaque to our FFA. This plaque recognizes all students who have obtained an IBC (Industry Based Certification) during the 2022-2023 school year.

We will mount this plaque in the Ag building for all Owls to see.

Congratulations to Courtney Shelton and Chris Hamlin for being selected as our What-A-Students. Courtney and Chris are model students. They are both taking Advanced Academics courses, heavily involved in many functions, and are leaders at YHS.

Congratulations, again !!!

Speaking of What-A-Burger, below is an application for employment.

We had a representative come this week and he met with the students during lunch. He told me that they are wanting to hire kiddos from Yantis at this location. This can be a great opportunity.

Congratulations to the following students for being recognized as All-District in Basketball.

Our Baseball Team has had success this year, and we are now a few games in District Play. We have won a few games, and have been competitive in almost all. Congratulations Owls and keep working!

Have I told you how proud we are of our Culinary Arts Program?

This program has been a HUGE success at YHS. It has been a pleasure watching this program grow this year. Please look below at our kiddos and their new Chef Coats and Aprons!

Our Prom will take place on 4/13/2024 from 7:30pm - 10:30pm at the Savannah in Sulphur Springs.

We are going to begin another tradition at YHS. The tradition will be called our "CTE Certification Ceremony."

During this ceremony, we will recognize any student that has obtained any type of certification or who has completed Texas College Bridge this year. Examples of certifications are AWS9.1, Food Handler or Food Manager/Adobe Photoshop, etc... This ceremony will take place on 4/25/24 @ 5:30 in the Cafeteria.

Parents, be on the lookout from your kiddos teachers to let you know that they are invited to attend this ceremony.

Due to continued problems with FAFSA, our FAFSA Night has been re-scheduled to 4/1/2024 beginning at 5pm. This event will take place in the cafeteria.

Seniors, please remember that applying for FAFSA is a graduation requirement.

The City National Bank will award a Scholarship to one or more graduating seniors from Yantis High School.

The recipient must meet the following requirements:

* Must attend a State Accredited Community College, Technical or Junior

College, or University within the State of Texas.

* Submit completed application and copy of current transcript in person by deadline.

* Application Deadline: Friday, April 26, 2024

Seniors, please pay attention to details at the top of page one for instructions and deadline.
