A Letter from Mr. Savage
Welcome to my final article for the 2023-2024 school year and what a successful year it has been! Our Mustangs have accomplished many things over the course of the school year and we are very proud of their effort! We could not have done this without the guidance from our staff and the support that our parents and community provide each and every day! Thank you for being a valuable part of our efforts here at Valley Heights Jr./Sr. High School. Now, we set our eyes on bigger goals and achievements for the 2024-2025 school year!
I am fond of saying that the school never sleeps! Although the students are not in the classrooms right now we still are hard at work in the weight room, summer camps and state and national competitions. Our maintenance staff is hard at work already preparing our building for the upcoming school year which is a monumental task! We thank them all for their hard work and the pride they put into their jobs!
We also need to take some time to recognize our Mustangs who just finished up their seasons at state track and state golf! We will start with junior Jayden DeWalt who placed 9th overall in 2A! On the track side of things, we had junior Tessa Miller with an 8th place finish in the javelin and our boys 4 X 100 relay team placed 5th to earn a spot on the medal stand. Team members were seniors Kaison Bigham and Carson Spoonts, sophomore Montana Martin and freshman Aiden Unruh! Congratulations to these student athletes on a job well done! Also, a big shout out to our coaches for all the time and energy they put in during the course of the season.
Another group of students putting in extra time during the summer is the group wrapping up the final pages of our yearbook. This group must wait not only until the end of the academic year but also the athletic year. Now that state track and golf have ended these students can put the finishing touches on our 2024-2024 yearbook. A big thanks goes out to these students and their instructor – Mrs. Lynette Steele-Coon.
Now we push into the month of June and before we know it we will be looking at the first days of August and the start of another great year at Valley Heights! Thank you all – students, staff, board members, parents and patrons for making Valley Heights great!
