The SHARK Alert

Dear CES families and friends,

I hope you had a wonderful April Break. Believe it or not, we have only 35.5 days of school until the Summer Vacation. Over the next two months, there are lots of field trips and events for our students and families. Please make sure to keep up-to-date by reading the SHARK Alert each week.

You should have received an email confirming your student's afterschool club enrollment for the final session this past week. Clubs start tomorrow, Monday, April 28th. Session IV clubs end on Friday, June 6th. Pick Up Patrol dismissal plans should be updated ASAP.

Please note two very important deadlines this week:

• April 28th is the deadline for Great White Shark and Tiger Shark level sponsorships for the CES Fun Run. New this year, each Great White & Tiger Shark sponsor will have their company logo printed on the back of the students' Fun Run t-shirts. It's a win-win when you sponsor our PTO and have close to 150 walking billboards for your business!
• April 30th is the deadline to register for the Pups PreK Lottery. This full-day, PreK program is open to Harwich and Chatham 3 and 4 year-olds. Please note, your student must be 3 years old by September 1, 2025. The lottery and notifications will be sent on May 1st.

In other good news, the SHARK Merchandise from the recent pop-up store is in and ready for delivery. Students will be sent home with their goods this week.

Mark your calendars and prepare for the 4th Annual CES Fun Run on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 sponsored by the fin-tastic CES Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)!

This school-wide event will celebrate fitness and community with our students, staff, families, and community members. The event begins with opening ceremonies at 11:30 am followed by two races for our students. There will be music, food, and a carnival-like atmosphere. The event proceeds will help fund our PTO-sponsored activities and extracurricular activities for the 2025-2026 school year.

• 11:30 Opening Ceremonies
• 11:45 Grades K & 1 Race (1 mile)
• 12:15 Grades 2 - 4 Race (1.5 miles)
• 12:45 Student and Staff Picnic Lunch

Volunteers help make every event GREAT! We are in need of adults to set up the race course, monitor the race course as students are running, assist with the picnic lunch, and help break everything down at the end of the day. Volunteers not only get to be a part of all the festivities, they also get to wear a cool neon vest and take part in our picnic!

The CES Fun Run is a wonderful community event and a fundraiser for our school's PTO. Did you know that the CES PTO funds a number of events throughout the year including, but not limited to: a family skate night, the Halloween Parade, a free book for every child at the Scholastic Book Fair, supplies for after-school clubs, author visits (like Melissa Stewart), the Fourth Grade Promotion festivities, and Teacher Appreciation Week?

The PTO is currently accepting donations and sponsorships for the Fun Run. There are several different levels of sponsorship below. NEW this year, all Tiger Shark and Great White Shark sponsors will have their company/personal logo advertised on the back of all student race shirts!! That's 146 walking (or should I say running) bill boards for your company!!

• The Great White Shark Sponsorship $300 and up - Your logo on the back of student race shirts; a large solo banner with logo on the race course; week-long social media shout out; and a Monomoy Thank You Swag Bag
• The Tiger Shark Sponsorship $200-$299 - our logo on the back of student race shirts; a medium sized solo banner with logo on the race course; social media shout out; and Monomoy Thank You Gift
• The Hammerhead Shark Sponsorship $100-$199 - A small solo banner with your logo on the race course; social media shout out; and Monomoy Thank You Gift
• The Mako Shark Sponsorship $50-$99 - Your name on a group banner on the race course and social media shout out

You can fill out your sponsorship form electronically and upload your company/personal logo by clicking HERE. Checks can be sent via backpack mail or to:

The PTO meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm in the Media Center. Parents that would like to attend from home can connect via the Zoom Meeting Link provided below. There are lots of activities coming soon and all sorts of help is needed.
