REGIONAL CHAMPS VOLLEYBALL

Make it a five peat!

A big congrats to our #PointerNation Volleyball team for its thrilling 3-2 win at Waterloo in the WIAA Regional Final Saturday afternoon to claim our 8th Regional title in program history and 5th in a row!

After going up 2-0, the Pointers dropped the next two sets, but won the decisive 5th when it mattered most.

This was a battle of two Top Ten State Ranked teams as the Pointers are 7th and the Pirates 6th in Division 4.

Next up will be the Sectional Semifinal Thursday, October 29 at Cuba City with first serve set for 7 pm.

Keep this great season going strong!

SCHOOL BUS SAFETY DAY

A big thanks to Mr. Todd Schmitz (Transportation Director) and Mrs. Denise Enright (Dispatch) from the First Student Bus Barn who came to talk about bus safety this week! Even if a child doesn't ride the bus every day, they should always know the rules and what to do in case of an emergency as they will be on the bus for field trips and other special events. Thanks again!

GUNDRY HOUSE

Ask a 4th Grader about visiting the Gundry House! This beautiful home was built in 1868 and we nearly lost it in 1939. However, a small group of people gathered some money and saved this home from being torn down, and thus, the Mineral Point Historical Society began! The students loved uncovering pieces of the past found all throughout our community!

UNITY DAY

October 21 is Unity Day! Unity Day is the signature event of National Bullying Prevention Month. This is a day when we can come together to send a visible message of building community through kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. The call to action is simple: wear and share the color orange. This vibrant statement becomes a conversation starter, showing support for students who have been bullied and for bullying prevention.

Thank you to everyone in middle school who participated by wearing their best orange. We had a great turn out. Our dress up winners were Quayde Doyle for best hat and sock combo, Gracyn Walter for best orange accessories, and Callie Leuthold for most creative orange outfit.

GO BREWERS

We're having a ball learning about the World Series! Lessons included how the game of baseball is played, concession stand food, and of course some Brewer fun - sausage races and Bernie’s slide. Mr. Fiedler (a Cubs fan) came to listen to us cheer on the Brewers and was super excited, as you can see. We ended with making some concession stand food to eat.

PRE-SEASON ALL-STATE

Bound Wisconsin is proud to showcase their Pre-Season All-State Basketball lists.

Congratulations to Aiden Patterson for being named an All-State Second Team Pre-Season pick in Division 4 for the Class of 2028!

Says Bound, "Patterson is set to take on a much bigger role with the Pointers as he’s the lone major contributor back from the 20-win squad a year ago. As a sophomore he averaged 7.9 points and 4.0 rebounds and was an honorable mention all-conference selection. The lefty guard is 6-3 and has added strength over the offseason which can only further enhance his on-court production."

Thanks for another entertaining season, including qualifying for the Playoffs for the 13th straight year.
