Sunnyvale ISD Leadership Gears Up for an Exciting New School Year

On July 22 and 23, Sunnyvale ISD’s district and campus leadership teams gathered to plan and set the stage for a successful 2025-2026 school year. This annual meeting brought together principals, district administrators, campus leaders, and board members for two days of strategic preparation and professional growth. Community partner and district architect firm WRA Architects provided meeting space for the retreat in their Plano offices.

Highlights from the Planning Retreat
Team members participated in interactive sessions focused on identifying and building leadership strengths, fostering a collaborative spirit, and setting a positive tone for the year ahead.

The leadership team reviewed key changes resulting from the recent Texas legislative session, progress on ongoing district construction projects and budget updates. The team also reviewed recent successes in student achievement and set goals for building on this momentum in the coming year.

Board President Mr. Brad Cravens, along with board members Mrs. Lee Mathew and Mr. Kelleyton Wilson, Sr., also participated in the discussions and planning sessions.

Sunnyvale ISD is committed to empowering students and staff to reach their highest potential. With purposeful planning and collaboration, the district is well-prepared to make the 2025-2026 school year one of excellence, growth, and achievement for every Sunnyvale Raider.

Back-to-School forms are expected to be available on Tuesday, July 29 in the parent portal. Availability is pending final board approval of the student handbook and code of conduct at the Monday, July 28 board meeting.

PLEASE NOTE: In order for students to pick up a laptop, ALL ONLINE FORMS must be completed. If you are unable to attend these days, your device will be in your first period class on the first day of school.

Parent Portal Support Squad - August 4 in the SMS Cafeteria

Need help with Parent Portal and back to school forms? The Parent Portal Support Squad is here to help!

Stop by the SMS cafeteria on August 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to get help with completing the annual SISD school registration forms. All forms must be completed in order to access student schedules at Rowdy's Reunion. You will also have access to assistance with general Parent Portal and proof of residency questions. Notary services will be available.

Note: All forms for the 2025 - 2026 school year must be complete in order to pick up student schedules.

📝SES and SIS Students Will Learn Who Their Teachers Are On This Night, Too!

SES and SIS Students will visit their home campus at 5:00 p.m. - and ending promptly at 6:00 p.m. - to obtain their teacher information and then join the rest of the district at the high school for all the fun at Rowdy's Reunion.

PLEASE NOTE: In order for students to pick up their schedules, ALL ONLINE FORMS must be completed.

The newly passed Texas House Bill 1481 prohibits students from using personal electronic communication devices at any time during the school day - both instructional and non-instructional periods - while on school property. This law will take effect on September 1, 2025, and applies to all Texas public schools.

Sunnyvale ISD is developing guidelines to ensure compliance. Please see the link below for details. Further information regarding procedures and guidelines will follow later this summer.

SHS students will learn about their supply lists during the first week of school.

Is your Raider planning to ride the bus for the 2025 -2026 school year?

Director of Transportation Mr. Todd Staley is working on bus schedules and needs your help. Please complete one of the below bus rider forms.

Everyone who rode the bus this year to or from school and who intends to ride next year to fill out the Existing Rider form: Existing Rider Form

The summer of 2023 I led SHS students to London & Paris, and and it is not a trip I’ll forget! There is no way I could have planned as much in ten days as the tour did for us. We experienced so much. This year, I’m thrilled to partner with WorldStrides to offer meaningful travel, learning, and even a chance for students to earn college credit.

STAAR Scores Available in Ascender Parent Portal

To access high school EOC and 3-8 STAAR scores, visit the Ascender Parent Portal.

June 10 - High School EOC scores were released.

June 17 - STAAR 3-8 scores are released.

You will be able to access these scores through your parent portal, the same place you get your students' grades during the year. Once in the portal, click the button labeled "Texas Assessment" (pictured above).

Incoming 7th and 8th Grade Families,

If you are wanting to play football next fall, please join "2025 Sunnyvale Raider Middle School Football" on SportsYou. The code is below. If you do not have the SportsYou app downloaded, please download. This will be how coaches communicate with athletes and parents. Both athletes and parents need to join to know the communication that is being sent out.

2025-2026 Student Parking at SHS

Applications for student parking are now available on the SHS website and in the SHS Front Office.

There is a separate application if you are Senior and plan to paint your parking space.

See the application for deadlines/dates related to application submission, parking space lottery, cleaning, and painting. Payment will be accepted in the form of cash or check in the SHS Front Office.
