This Week's Scouting Report
Thursday September 4, 2025
WELCOME BACK
Today was filled with an overwhelming amount of "SPIRIT" with so many EAGLES jerseys and other sports teams on display. Many students chose to celebrate their favorite team: TEAM GLENWOOD! Tomorrow (as we do every Friday), show off your school spirit by wearing Glenwood GREEN! We hope to fill the Penncrest High School stadium with green during tomorrow night's football home opener beginning at 7:00
We hope every student had a wonderful start to the new school. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Mrs. Christa Consadene cconsadene@rtmsd.org.
Tomorrow: Wear Glenwood GREEN

Kindergarten Dash - Come Cheer them On!
We are inviting all Kindergarten students to our KINDERGARTEN DASH on Friday September 5th! Kindergarten students are invited to run the length of the turf field together before our 7 pm first home football game! We will provide all Kindergarten students with a "Future LION" t-shirt they can wear for the event.
ALL are invited to cheer our students on to victory! Join us as our Penncrest Lions face Haverford High School - kick off 7 p.m. Enjoy our Roaring Lions Marching Band halftime show and support our senior class by purchasing a snack (or dinner) at the concession stand. Don't forget to stock up on Penncrest football swag at the booster tent. What an amazing way to KICK OFF the upcoming school year!!!
Kindergarten students should plan to arrive at 6:15 p.m. and meet on the track at 6:30 p.m. (near the scoreboard end of the field). Dash will be held at 6:40 p.m. Students will be asked to quickly leave the field after the run to allow the football team time to warm up. This is NOT a drop-off event. We ask only one parent/guardian on the field with your Kindergarten student (no siblings). Kindergarten students do NOT need to sign up for this event.
Admission for the football game is $5/adult (ages 12 and older), cash only, please try to have exact change. For any questions, please contact penncrestathleticboosters@gmail.com.
all smiles first day of school...
Upcoming School Year Calendars
Both documents can be found on the calendar page, all events/activities have been added to our school calendar.
Glenwood Happenings
Safety First - thank you PSP!
We had a few visitors the first day of school, including the PA State Police. They stopped by to meet Mrs. Consadene, and then Mr. Dougherty and Mr. Harrison gave them a tour of the building so they are familiar with our school set up. The troopers even had a minute to stop into a classroom and meet some students!
WCU Student Teachers
Each year we are fortunate to work with many colleges in the area to help 'train' the next generation of teachers! These West Chester University seniors will be working with some of our teachers, visiting twice a week during their 'practicum' semester. Next semester, they will student teach!
We have a Penncrest grad in this group as well! She was part of Mrs. Anderson's Child Development class and visited Glenwood weekly during her high school senior year to work with Mrs. Harkness' class!
PTG Updates

Parents Night Out
Parent's Night Out at Arasapha Farm.
Come learn what PTG is all about, meet new people, drink some delicious coffee, and enjoy a kid-free couple of hours.
This will be held on Monday, September 29 from 6-8 p.m.
Homeroom Representatives
PTG is currently looking for Homeroom Representative volunteers! As a homeroom rep, you will facilitate communication between parents and teacher, principal and PTG. You will also support the teacher as needs arise including classroom parties and events. It is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to your child's school experience!
Please fill out the below form via Membership Toolkit completely and submit by FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5th. Include up to 3 preferences. Once the list is confirmed, you will receive an email notification of your assigned classroom. Ideally, we'd like to have two homeroom parents per classroom. The homeroom coordinator will be the primary contact between the teacher and classroom parents when planning classroom events and activities. Homeroom Rep Sign Up
ALL HOMEROOM PARENTS MUST HAVE THEIR CLEARANCES ON FILE WITH THE DISTRICT.
To complete your clearances, refer to our district website. Once you have obtained the necessary paperwork, please submit all three forms to the Glenwood Main Office.
Thank you for volunteering and we look forward to a great school year!
Volunteer Oportunities
The following PTG committees are looking for anyone interested in helping out. The good news is there is already someone coordinating so if you are the type of person who doesn’t like to be in charge but want to help out, this would be perfect for you .
BINGO NIGHT, TRUNK OR TREAT, DECORATING COMMITTEE, FARE, YEARBOOK, FIELD DAY, SUPPLY KITS, MLK DAY OF SERVICES, AND HOSPITALITY!
Parent / Guardian Resources & Reminders
Back to School Nights
Monday September 15th (K-2)
Tuesday September 16th (3-5)
Parents and guardians are invited to meet with your child's teacher as they review curriculum, introduce families to the classroom structure and procedures, and provide an overview of the year. We offer two sessions of the classroom presentation so you may attend a time that works best for you (and allow those with multiple students to visit both rooms). This is an adult-only event, no students or younger siblings.
We will follow this schedule for both evenings:
6:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.: Classroom Presentation
6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.: Meet our Specialists in the Library
7:05 p.m. - 7:35 p.m.: Repeat Classroom Presentation
VOLUNTEER CLEARANCES
All guests and volunteers (including Homeroom parents) must have their clearances on file with the district. Click here: OBTAINING CLEARANCES FOR VOLUNTEERS & CHAPERONES
Once you have obtained all THREE portions of the clearances, we must verify them at school. We must see the ORIGINAL FBI clearance (printed with a light blue background and it will be USPS <snail> MAILED to you - - we cannot accept the email!). You can bring all three portions with you during our Open House, send them in with your student (we will make a copy and send them back home), or stop by the office. Please only send in when all THREE have been completed, our HR Department will not accept them separately. You will receive email verification once we have received all three copies and you have been confirmed as a volunteer.
Have some downtime this summer? Now is a perfect time to work on getting your clearances! Clearances are valid for FIVE (5) years, if you are unsure your expiration, email Coleen Fickes: cfickes@rtmsd.org.
