RVS Staff Notes

The last week before winter break! You made it. The morning drives have been snowy, recess has been COLD(!) and we have all been dealing with illness at school and at home. I always love this point in the school year because things start to tip towards spring: we are ready to start seeds with students not long after we return, we have seven new apple trees resting at Ember Hill Farm, just waiting to make the trip to their new home at RVS this spring, and forest Fridays will take a turn toward noticing all of the new growth around us. While things will get muddy, and probably snowy, again before we get there, this is a time of change and new starts. Bring it on! 🌸🌷🌼

In ongoing budget news, all we know for sure is that March will be a bumpy ride for many communities in the state. We will certainly be watching, but in the meantime, we will be busy providing our students with the best education we can, and getting ready for an even better year, next year.

• No morning meeting this week - please focus on academics you want to wrap up before break! We will likely be announcing an all-school celebration that will happen on Friday - TBA!
• Lunch duty staff - thank you for reinforcing new expectations with students! Please keep at it this week - if you see a student leave a table without checking with an adult, direct them to go sit down and try raising their hand. Students doing anything other than walking can be redirected back to their spot to try walking again. Please be sure to be on time for lunch duty - this is 11:25, in the cafeteria.
• This Thursday, 2/22, the fourth graders will leave with Shannon to attend their first MSMS transition event of the year: a fifth grade talent show, hosted at UES! We will leave right away in the morning and be back around recess time.
