Boyer Bulletin
Arrival / Dismissal Procedures 2026-27
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Good afternoon Boyer Families,
I wanted to send a separate Boyer Bulletin about arrival/dismissal procedures. There are a few changes this year so please read all of the information carefully and review the maps below. Thank you for your grace and patience the first week of school.
We encourage all adults to maintain a heightened sense of awareness, both inside and outside of school zones and at all crossing points. Please continue to be mindful and watchful of our children, particularly as they make their way to and from school each day.
By collectively adhering to these safety measures, we can significantly reduce the risk of accidents and ensure the well-being of all our students and staff. Thank you for your attention to this matter and your ongoing partnership in maintaining a secure environment for our students. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow at Meet the Teacher!
Be Boyer, Be Brave, Be YOU!
Mr. Bill
Arrival/Dismissal Safety Tips and Reminders
Drive with Caution
When approaching the school premises, please remember to reduce your speed and be on the lookout for students, pedestrians, and cyclists. Always follow traffic rules and be prepared for unexpected movements.
Avoid Distractions
Please refrain from using your cell phones or engaging in other distracting activities while driving within the school vicinity. Keeping your focus on the road will help prevent accidents. Remember that cell phone usage is against the law in a school zone.
Designated Drop-off and Pick-up Zones
Utilize the designated drop-off and pick-up zones provided by the school. This will help maintain a smooth flow of traffic and ensure the safety of everyone involved. Students should not be dropped off, unaccompanied, in the parking lot. An adult needs to escort them across the crosswalk.
Watch for Pedestrians and Bicyclists
Keep an eye out for pedestrians using crosswalks and cyclists on the road. Give them ample space and right of way as needed.
Obey Prosper ISD Police Officers, Crossing Guards, and Staff
Our Prosper ISD Police Officers, crossing guards, and school staff members are there to help facilitate safe passage for students. Please follow their directions and signals at all times.
Teach Safe Cycling and Walking Practices
If your child walks or bikes to school, ensure they are well-versed in safety practices such as using designated crossing points, wearing reflective gear, and obeying traffic signals. Go with them on their route to point out any safety issues they may face.
Handicap Areas
We have a number of families and staff that will need to utilize the handicap parking spots. A sticker must be displayed to use these spots. You should not pull into these spots to drop off your students.
Crosswalk
Click HERE to read the Bike & Scooter Safety smore. There is a driving safety PSA from our Prosper ISD Police Department.
Arrival Procedures
- Parents may walk their child to class on the first day of school.

- Please do not drop your child off in the parking lot unaccompanied. There are several blind spots and traffic. Children must be accompanied, with a parent, if you walk your child to the front entrance. Please use the crosswalk at all times.
- All buses will be dropped off in the back of the building.
- Bike riders and walkers will use the crosswalk on the NE corner of the school. A crossing guard will be at that location for your child's safety.
- Bike racks are on the east side of the school by the gym.
- Bike riders and walkers will use the front entrance in the morning.

TRANSPORTATION - BUS REGISTRATION
Rainy Day Dismissal Procedures (lightning in the area)
*The safest manner of student pick-up during inclement weather is the car rider line. If there is lightning in the area, we will not dismiss walkers and bikers from the gym. These students will need to be picked up in car line. Last names A-L get picked up in the front and M-Z in the back. Don't forget your car tags.
*Please do not come into the building to pick up your student. Car line may take a little longer but be assured that our primary concern is the safety of our students.
*If it is raining, without lightning, walker and bikers will be dismissed by the gym, as usual.
*I will send out an email at 2:30 p.m. if the Rainy Day / Lightning dismissal procedures will go into effect.
Safety and Security
I'd like to take a moment to share the safety measures we have in place to support and protect our students and staff. While no one can guarantee that every situation can be predicted, what I can assure you is that safety is a top priority for us. Every staff member is dedicated, well-trained, and proactive in creating a secure and caring environment at our school. We remain alert, prepared, and fully committed to the well-being of everyone on our campus.
- One officer on campus.
- Every staff member has been trained about what to do in case of an emergency or active shooter.
- Every campus is audited by our police department every year, which is beyond the requirements of the Texas Education Agency who only requires an audit every three years.
- Every exterior door has been examined by our maintenance staff and police department to ensure that automatic locking systems are operational.
- Every classroom door is locked by default.
- Every campus has controlled access to enter the building. Security vestibules are locked during the day.
- Every visitor must check in with the front office and provide a driver's license to enter.
- Our portables are locked and fenced.
- Every district phone is equipped with a one-touch button that is directly connected to the police department for 911 response.
We have one officer who is on campus patrolling, checking doors, and building relationships with students. In addition, we have highly collaborative relationships with our city and county law enforcement agencies.
