It is hard to believe that we will be welcoming back our teachers, students, and families in just a couple of weeks! I hope everyone reading this message is beginning to feel the excitement of a new school year. One of the great things about education is that each year provides us with a fresh start and an opportunity to reflect on how we can improve, embrace new opportunities, and make changes that are in the best interest of the students we serve.

While the start of a new school year brings change and new opportunities, some things remain constant. Our core values of community, integrity, leadership, respect, and trust bring us together regardless of the year or the challenges and opportunities ahead. Our mission to create a supportive school environment with accelerated learning opportunities that prepare students to Explore, Experience, and Excel will continue to guide Sussex Academy as we look toward the future.

Please take note of the important school calendar dates communicated throughout each section of our newsletter. The decision to begin school before Labor Day was carefully considered by our Board of Directors through a process that began in November 2025, with the approved calendar communicated to families in January 2026. Click here for direct access to a downloadable copy of the school calendar, which is also available on our website.
