Reminders from Nutrition Services

As we settle into the new school year, our Nutrition Services department has some friendly reminders for students who access meals during the school day.

  • Families can sign up for free or reduced lunch through the Oregon Department of Education’s website. For more information about whether or not your family qualifies for free or reduced lunch, please visit the district website. The State of Oregon recently approved additional funding, meaning more families qualify this school year!

  • Families who need a refund from their Nutrition Services account can do so through the district website.

  • Lunch and breakfast menus are available on your school or district website. Please make sure you are toggled to the correct school on the top left-hand side of your screen.

  • Any student who goes through the meal line will be served a meal regardless of their account balance. Families are still responsible for paying negative balances, however. If you would like to restrict your student from receiving meals or individual beverages at school, please fill out this online form.

    • Students can only receive a second meal or individual milk if they have positive funds in their meal account. Families can add to their student’s meal account through SchoolPay.

More information about Nutrition Services can always be found on the district website. Thank you for your attention to these friendly Nutrition Services reminders!

Mark Your Calendars — First Primary Level Early Release, Professional Growth Wednesday is Next Week!

About once or twice a month, students are released from school two hours early for the District's Professional Growth Wednesdays. Those two hours are used as time for teacher learning, giving staff an opportunity to collaborate and engage in professional development.

That work leads to better teachers and, in turn, better education for students. Mark your calendars for the following Professional Growth Wednesdays this school year. Please note that some Professional Growth Wednesdays affect primary schools only, so if you have students in middle or high school, they may experience a regular school day. Those instances are marked as PRIMARY LEVEL ONLY Professional Growth Wednesdays.

Volunteer in WLWV Schools!

The West Linn-Wilsonville School District uses HelpCounter for volunteer registration and sign-in to increase safety and security for all students. Interested volunteers can register to volunteer in WLWV schools by visiting the Volunteer Registration webpage. Simply select 'Start' to fill out your application, which includes a background check. The first time that volunteers sign-in to volunteer at any WLWV school they will be prompted to accept a Volunteer Agreement.

Volunteers must also re-register every three years, or when volunteering at a new school. Note that volunteer coaches register through a different process. Contact your school's athletic director or principal for more information.

Volunteering in WLWV schools is an extremely rewarding experience. Your time is greatly appreciated by both staff and students!
