MTMS Wolf Wire
October 3, 2025
MT's purpose is to educate and empower students to become responsible citizens.
A Few Words From the Principal
Starting on Monday road construction begins on Monticello road. This is going to impact morning and evening traffic to and from MT. You are going to need to plan more time if you are in a car, bike, scooter, or on foot. We are going to move the car loop to the front of the school. To enter the car loop you will need to turn at the light and enter there and exit at the stop sign on Monticello. Please pull up as far as possible. The bus loop will be in the back of the school. We will have extra police officers in the area to assist, but please plan extra time, be patient, and be safe.
Thank you.

Monticello Road Closure Starts October 6th
Monticello Road will be closed in front of Mill Valley beginning Monday, October 6th, with repairs expected to last 3-4 weeks. MT will ONLY be accessible from the South.
The front of the school will be the drop off/pick-up for car riders (car loop) and the back of the school will be for buses. The traffic flow in the front of the school during pick up and drop off times will be one way traveling from north to south. The map below provides more information.
Please respect these traffic directions. Police will initially be assisting with traffic flow. We understand that this may initially slow car loop drop-off and pick-up, and we thank you for planning on extra time to get to school safely and responsibly. See the city's website for more information.
Student Fees Due
With the transition to Skyward Q, posting of school fees was delayed until after the year began. Fees were posted in August and are available to pay several different ways - either in-person with cash or check or online through e-Funds (step-by-step guide is attached). If you would like to discuss fees or set up a payment plan, please contact the office and we'll be happy to work with you. Thank you for supporting our school and your student's learning!
All student athletes are required to pay the Catastrophic Insurance fee of $7.63 as part of their student fees. This fee is required by the district regardless of personal health insurance coverage. If you have not already done so, please make sure this fee has been paid ASAP so that your student's ability to compete is not affected.
Canvas for Parents
Did you know you can set up your own Canvas account to observe your student's school progress? This is a great way to help your student stay on top of grades and work. See the information below to pair your parent account with your student's. There are also video instructions available through the QR code!
Red Ribbon Events
MTMS kicked off our Red Ribbon events in 6th grade this week with a presentation by Officer Cole. Next week, Cooper Davis Memorial Foundation will be sharing information with 8th grade students, and Sunflower House will share internet safety information with 7th graders. Additionally, we invite local veterans and current service members who are close to the MTMS family to join us for donuts and a short assembly beginning at 7:55am.

Spelling Bee π π
Spelling bee season is right around the corner. The first qualifying rounds take place in ELA classes in November. Begin studying now with the word lists posted to your ELA teacher's Canvas page.
eSports Club
MTMS is starting up an esports team! Students will be able to play against other students both in person and online through the organization, PlayVS. We will be competing in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Smash Brothers Ultimate, and Rocket League. MTMS has been graciously donated seven Switch consoles, so students will not need to bring any equipment to play. Any student interested in esports needs to fill out this form by Friday 10/10, please. PlayVS competition rules for the games can be found in the form. Questions can be directed to Mr. Watts, our eSports Club sponsor.

Illness
Please report any symptoms of illness to the school. Please be specific - report symptoms such as sore throat, nausea, fever instead of reporting βillβ or βsickβ. Giving symptoms helps with Health Department Reporting and to see illness trends in the district.
Remember students are to be fever and/or symptom free 24 hours before returning after an illness: https://www.usd232.org/departments/health-services/policies-screenings
