Here are a few notable days in February:
World Day of Social Justice (February 20th) – A day dedicated to promoting social justice in all its forms. It highlights issues such as poverty, inequality, human rights, and access to education and healthcare, while reminding us of the importance of creating fair and inclusive societies for all.
Black History Month – Throughout the entire month of February, we celebrate the achievements and contributions of Black Americans throughout history. This month serves to honor the history, culture, and ongoing efforts of equality and justice for Black Americans.
These observances allow us to reflect, educate, and engage with important topics that shape our world.

Tosa Rec Department - WAC Whitman Activity Center - Pajama Party on March 7th
WAC (Whitman Activity Center) is the Friday evening After School programs which occur throughout the school year. Time of the programs are 7:00pm - 9:00pm. Participants must be students at Whitman Middle School or 6th - 8th grade Montessori students and must be registered to attend the event.
The next WAC program takes place on FRIDAY MARCH 7TH - A WAC PAJAMA PARTY, you heard that right! Your students are encouraged to wear their fun and comfy PJs, we will have fun activities such as pickleball, a spa room, crafts, open swim and more. WAC starts at 7pm (students must enter the program by 7:30pm) and students may begin lining up at 6:45pm at the GYM entrance. Program dismisses at 9pm, at the exit near the tennis courts. All students must be picked up!!! Students are not allowed to walk home as it is a safety concern.
If your child is not registered for WAC, you can still register them through the Parent Portal of Infinite Campus. Select the School Store, click WAC and add to cart. The fee covers the events throughout the year.
Registration Fee & Payment
We are still in need of volunteers for this event, volunteers must be 16 years and older so if you have a High School student needing volunteer hours WAC is a great opportunity (we personally recommend Hallway Monitor Spots).

Family Academic Advocacy Committee Meeting
For Parents/Caregivers of Students at West/Whitman Schools
The district Family Academic Advocacy Committee is a non-governing committee of parents and caregivers that partners with the Division of Academic Performance to help build a culture of academics and raise rigor for all students. Please attend this session to help us better understand: What you want and expect from your child’s secondary school experience. What goals and concerns you have related to academic culture and rigor. How you currently interact with teachers and district staff around academic culture and what might be improved. How you view the rigor and homework your kids are receiving. This 75-minute session is your chance to provide input that will be used by our committee, the Division of Academic Performance and school leadership teams. You’ll interact with other parents and caregivers to brainstorm and document your goals and concerns, and your feedback will be turned into an actionable summary for school and district leaders. This session is for all parents and caregivers of students at Wauwatosa West and Whitman schools. Date: March 11 Time: 6:30-7:45 pm Location: West High School Steiner Center

Ireland, Scotland and England Summer 2026 Informational Session 2.20 4:30-5:30
Dear families,
We’re going to Ireland, Scotland and England in Summer 2026, and you’re invited!
We’re excited to tell you more about the trip we’re planning with EF Tours, our educational travel partner. Please be sure to register for this info session to be considered for this opportunity: https://rsvp.eftours.com/mks4c97
When students travel, they expand their knowledge of the world around them, discover more about themselves, and grow more confident. These skills are critical for creating the global citizens of tomorrow, and we would love to have your student join us on this adventure.
In this info session, we’ll talk about:
- How this opportunity will benefit your student
- What we’ll see and do on our trip
- Everything that’s included in this experience
- How your child can earn academic credit
- How we’re keeping this safe and affordable
- How to enroll on this trip (before it fills up!) during EF’s risk-free enrollment period
There are limited spots on this trip, so we would love to have you attend this meeting to learn more about this exciting opportunity!
Thanks,
