Newsletter Issue 3 Vol 4 |10.03.22 Bullying Prevention Month
October is National Bullying Prevention Month!
Dear Tuscan Family,
New Jersey public schools recognize the first full week in October as the “Week of Respect”.
Week of Respect @ Tuscan October 3, 2022-October 7, 2022!
At Tuscan, the “Week of Respect” is intended to prevent incidences of harassment, intimidation, and bullying (HIB). Throughout this week, students will be engaged in grade level appropriate read alouds, morning meeting discussion prompts and activities created by Tuscan School Social Worker, Ms. Buggy. Throughout the school year we will encourage students to continue to refrain from bullying by respecting differences and using 'I-messages' to stand up for themselves and others.
Also, please read further in this edition of the Tuscan Tidings as our amazing Physical Education Teachers are excited to encourage participation in “Family PE Week” from October 3th -7th, 2022!

Family PE Week October 3 - 7, 2022
Dear Tuscan Parents and Guardians,
We are excited to share with you that our school will be participating in Family PE Week from October 3rd-7th!
Daily physical activity has many benefits for kids, such as increasing their energy, focus, and readiness to learn. Physical activity also reduces stress and anxiety. Of course, physical activity has benefits for people of all ages, so helping our students’ families be active together is one of our Physical Education goals!
We hope that your family will participate together in the Active Family Challenges we have included, or create your own fun activities. We want you to experience firsthand the fun and enjoyment that being active as a family provides!
Active Family Challenges:
We also hope that you will share your experience on social media in words and photos using the hashtag #TuscanTigers or #TuscanFit.
Sincerely Yours in Health & Wellness,
Noelle Sullivan & Ted Panayoutou

2022-23 SY Student Code of Conduct & Restorative Justice Guide
As per Board policy the "Student Code of Conduct & Restorative Justice" information is to be disseminated annually to all school staff, students, and parents. This Code of Conduct & Restorative Justice is presented to assist students, staff, and parents/guardians to understand the expectations for acceptable conduct while in school or attending school-sponsored activities, on school grounds, and while on the way to and from school. All students are expected to follow the Code of Conduct & Restorative Justice. K-12 Principals will review core principles and key components of the Code of Conduct & Restorative Justice with their staff and students (as developmentally appropriate) at the beginning of each school year, and as needed throughout the year. We ask families to do the same with their children.
