March 3rd, 2026

As we head into a busy and exciting stretch of the school year, we have important updates, reminders, and upcoming events to share with our school community. From academic planning and state assessments to activities, athletics, and special events, there is a lot happening at Cedar Bluffs. Please take a few moments to review the information below to stay informed and help your student finish the quarter strong. Thank you for your continued support of our Wildcats!
WEEKLY LUNCH MENU
REMINDER: NO SCHOOL
REMINDER: PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES
Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on March 4th and March 5th. We encourage all Middle and High School parents to come! If you are unable to make it to Parent Teacher Conferences, please reach out to teachers to check on your child's progress.
Middle and High School teachers will be available in their rooms. There will be a waiting area setup outside each classroom. Please enter through the main entrance.
WATCH OUT: STUDENTS TRAINING
Track season is officially underway! As our student-athletes begin their daily training runs around town after school, we ask everyone to be especially alert and mindful of their presence.
Many of our students will be running on sidewalks, crossing streets, and using local roadways as part of their workouts. Please take a moment to slow down, stay focused, and watch carefully for runners—particularly near intersections and in high-traffic areas. Your extra caution and awareness can make a big difference in keeping our students safe.
MIDDLE SCHOOL: QUARTER 4
Middle School students and parents have received the Quarter 4 Course Enrollment Form via email. Please note that this form is used to request classes, and placement in specific courses is not guaranteed. Final schedules will be determined based on availability, staffing, and overall scheduling needs.
Students must select new course options for each class period, with the exception of Band or Choir, which may continue as previously scheduled. Please remember that students may select only one PE/Weights class for the quarter.
These selections will serve as a guide as we build the Quarter 4 schedule, so please choose thoughtfully and include appropriate alternatives when possible.

MISSING ASSIGNMENTS
Missing assignments can quickly lead to falling behind and even failing courses, so we encourage families to help their students stay on track. A few great ways to do this include:
Creating a Canvas Observer Account to follow along with your student’s coursework.
Logging into PowerSchool to keep an eye on grades and assignments.
Having regular conversations with your student about their schoolwork.
SPRING TESTING DATES
POWERSCHOOL PARENT ACCOUNT
PowerSchool is the main tool our district uses to keep families connected to their child’s education. Having a PowerSchool account allows parents and guardians to:
Stay informed about grades and progress – Check assignments, grades, and overall performance in real time.
Monitor attendance – See if your child is in class each day and track attendance trends.
Receive important updates – Get communication from the school about schedules, attendance, and lunch balances
- Support your child’s success – By staying up to date, you can step in quickly if your child needs extra help or encouragement.
A PowerSchool account is one of the best ways to stay engaged in your child’s learning and ensure a strong home–school partnership.
If you need assistance setting up your PowerSchool Account, please reach out to Mrs. Sarah Sass in the high school office.
CANVAS OBSERVER ACCOUNT
A Canvas Observer account allows parents and guardians to stay connected to their child’s learning in our online system. With an Observer account, you can:
View assignments and due dates – See what your student is working on and when tasks are due.
Check grades and feedback – Stay up to date on progress and teacher comments for most classes.
Monitor course materials – Access class announcements, resources, and calendars.
- Support your student – Use the information you see to help your child stay organized, meet deadlines, and reach out for help when needed.
While Observers don’t complete work or submit assignments, this account gives parents a window into the classroom and helps foster communication between school and home.
If you would like to setup a Canvas Observer Account for your child, please reach out to Mrs. Headid.
JAG: JOBS FOR AMERICAS GRADUATES
We are looking for Guest Speakers for our high school JAG class. Mrs. Hansen has created a google form in hopes to get some of our community members and parents into the classroom to help teach our students the different jobs and occupations available! If you are interested please fill out the google form linked to the picture attached.
