EXCELLENT EXTRAS
Ready, Set, Read!
We all know how important reading is, and we are teaming up to promote early literacy in Plano ISD! All PreK-2 students are invited to join our first annual district-wide reading challenge! Families are encouraged to track the minutes their child reads at home by submitting the Google Form at www.bit.ly/pisdreads each week. Campuses will compete for prizes provided by the Plano ISD Education Foundation. The contest runs September 29th through October 31st, and the winning campuses will be announced the week of November 3rd. Now - ready, set, read!

The annual PTA- led art contest, Reflections, is about to kick off! We know we have a campus full of creative students, so please encourage your Ocelot to participate. With 70 fantastic entries from last year, we would love to see even more in 2025!
This school year’s theme is “I Belong!” Students can enter artworks in any category of their choosing including Visual Arts, Photography, Literature, Dance Choreography, Film Production and Music Composition. Our campus contest has focused on Visual Arts submissions in the past, but if there is interest in other categories, we welcome those entries for consideration.
From October 6-10, students will receive 11 x 17 art paper and a copy of the entry form in art class from Mr. Wick. Kids can start creating now if they like. It’s a great time to brainstorm!
Important Dates:
● October 6 - October 10th Kick off in Art Class
● November 3rd, 3p Final entries are due
● December 4th, 5:30-7p Winners announced at Art Night
