Deer Run Newsletter

We just concluded a short but fun week we had at Deer Run! One of the highlights was our school field trip to Jerome. We also had an exciting OSU vs. Michigan Day, and our students loved showing their team spirit with lots of energy, smiles, and friendly rivalry.

As we head into the Thanksgiving break, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude for our incredible community. Your continued support, encouragement, and partnership make Deer Run a special place for our students to learn and grow. We are truly thankful for each of you and the many ways you contribute, big and small, to our school family.

We hope you enjoy a restful, joyful, and safe Thanksgiving holiday surrounded by family and friends. We look forward to welcoming our students back next week, refreshed and ready for more learning and fun.

In the event of an emergency and the need to change a student's dismissal method be sure to send an email to the classroom teacher AND the attendance email (Dres_attendance@dublinschools.net). Teachers are extremely busy during the school day, therefore, it is not guaranteed that the teacher would have time to review the parent email prior to dismissal. Be sure to submit changes as early as possible to increase the likelihood that the communication will be received by our school team prior to dismissal.

As a reminder, car drop off and pick up for all students should take place at the back door of the school. Last school year, students were being dropped off at Grizzell, in the school parking lot, and in the neighborhood adjacent to the school. We want to ensure that all of our students are safely dropped off at school, therefore only the backdoor area should be used. Also, we also want to be considerate of our neighbors that live in the homes adjacent to the school. Therefore, adhering to this guidelines is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

There will be no school next Wednesday - Friday, November 26-28, due to Thanksgiving Break. Enjoy this time with your family and friends! We look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday, December 1.

Winter Weather Procedures

With winter just around the corner, now’s the perfect time to brush up on the District’s Winter Weather procedures. Also, ensure you are opted in to receive text message alerts from the district by sending “Y” or “Yes” to 67587. Stay prepared and informed as the temperatures drop!

Winter Registration Open for After School Activities

Don’t miss out on some exciting after school enrichment opportunities for your student. Dublin City Schools is happy to collaborate with a variety of local organizations to bring families a after school enrichment opportunities for students! Partner organizations include Cultured Kids French & Spanish Clubs, Drama Kids, Eager Artists, Eager Engineers, Future Fashion Stars, Korea Taekwondo, Robot Academy, and Young Rembrandts. Holiday Hours & Services for Thanksgiving

With the Thanksgiving holiday, City offices will be closed on Nov. 27, and the Dublin Community Recreation Center will be open from 8 a.m. to noon. There are no service impacts to your Rumpke pickups.

Fill a Cruiser, Fill a Heart

Save the date for the annual Fill-A-Cruiser Toy Drive with Dublin Police and Get Behind The Badge. They will collect new, unwrapped toys or gift cards Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Dublin Justice Center. The toy drive helps brighten the holidays for children of fallen or injured first responders and Dublin families in need. bit.ly/DublinFillACruiser

Heading out of town for a few days around the holidays? Dublin Police will make sure your home stays safe while you’re away. Vacation House Watch is a free service for Dublin residents.
