Message from our Principal, Mrs. Britton
This week, I had the honor of representing our exceptional school at a conference. My main purpose at the conference was to receive recognition on behalf of Indian Lane Elementary School. It brings me great joy to announce that our school has received the prestigious Tier 1 Sustaining recognition at the 2023 Integrated PaPBS Network and MTSS Implementers' Forum, acknowledging our successful implementation of School-Wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (SWPBIS) throughout the 2022-2023 school year. As we look ahead, I strongly encourage you to dedicate some time to peruse the numerous items listed in this week's bulletin. There are exciting opportunities on the horizon, please ensure you stay informed about all the upcoming events and activities by reviewing the bulletin.

American Education Week Parent/Guardian Visitation๐
American Education Week, set to take place from November 13th to 17th, is rapidly approaching. We are excited to celebrate public education within the Rose Tree Media School District and to showcase the exceptional Indian Lane Elementary School. These visitation dates and times were thoughtfully planned and were initially communicated in the July 31st Mid-Summer Bobcat Bulletin. It's truly remarkable how time is flying, and we are already nearing November in this school year.
We extend a warm invitation to parents to join us for a firsthand experience of Indian Lane Elementary School during this week. These designated visitation times have been organized to offer parents and guardians a glimpse of a "typical" school day for our students. Please note that there's no requirement for prior Clearances on file to attend. However, we kindly request that each student be accompanied by a maximum of two guests due to space limitations.
Upon your arrival, please sign in at the Main Lobby. We are looking forward to your visit, and it's hard to believe how quickly this school year is passing!

Veterans Day Star Project
Students are invited to decorate a star honoring a Veteran. Directions and stars were sent home with most students on Friday. If your child did not yet bring home their star, please look for it to come home on Monday. We will display the stars in our lobby as a special "Thank You" to all Veterans, especially those close to the hearts of our Bobcats, for Veterans Day.

Students will receive passports as they journey around the world. Participants have the option to present virtually or in person, with specific dates for in-person presentations to be determined based on family interest.
Please note that the time allotment for presentations will be determined based on whether you choose a virtual or in-person format. The deadline for submitting the survey is being extended to Friday, November 10th. We look forward to your participation in this exciting cultural heritage celebration at Indian Lane Elementary! Your contribution will enrich the educational experience of our students and strengthen the bonds within our school community.
The Brandywine River Museum Art Exhibit๐จ
The Brandywine River Museum will exhibit artwork created by our fifth graders. The exhibition opened on October 25th. Sunday, November 5th, is one of two Free First Sundays when museum admission is free, and there are complimentary children's art activities from 10 AM to 2 PM.
Families can make the most of this opportunity to view their students' artwork on that day and take pleasure in the museum's offerings.
For information regarding the museum's hours and address, please refer to this link.
From the School Nurse๐ฉโโ๏ธ
Cough and cold symptoms have been increasing lately. Please keep in mind the district guidance for When to Keep Your Child at Home when assessing your student. The nurse's office does not supply cough medicine or cough drops so make sure that your student has what they need before coming to school. Water bottles are encouraged!
Progress reports are posted in HAC three times yearly to students in Kindergarten through Grade 5. Conferences for Kindergarten through Grade 5 are held in November and March. Families may request other conferences as the need arises. These may be arranged through the teacher or the office. Good communication between home and school is critical. You may leave a voice
message or email for your childโs teacher at any time (Page 20).
Many items get lost at school throughout the day. We do our best to return lost items to their owners. Please view the slideshow if you are missing items. If you see something that belongs to your child, please email apoletti@rtmsd.org with the description of the item and your studentโs name and we will return it to them.
Parents can watch News On The Lane each morning to keep up with school events. A link can be found on our website under "Quick Links." You can also subscribe to our YouTube page for notifications of new video postings.
Parent Portal
The Parent Portal is a central location on the district's website where parents can find helpful information. Please refer to the communication sent by the school district on August 10th which is located on the parent portal.
