Principal Message
Dear Families,
It was a busy and rewarding week of conferences at WCS, and our staff would like to thank all of you for the great discussions and collaboration. We hope that you found the conferences beneficial in helping to prepare for the next portion of the school year.
Beginning this week, we will start adding a link to our newsletters on the Power Hub. This platform will soon become a one-stop shop for all school information and updates. We will, however, continue sending newsletters through School Messenger until January to ensure a smooth transition.
A reminder that Tuesday, November 4th is a teacher workshop day, and there will be no school for students. We hope you find something festive and fun to enjoy, and that it turns out to be a beautiful day off for our students!
Thank you as always for keeping Pick-Up Patrol updated each day with your child’s dismissal plans, absences, and late arrivals. Your attention to this helps our days run smoothly and ensures student safety.
Finally, a big shout-out to our students and staff for their amazing participation in Red Ribbon Week! The spirit and enthusiasm shown throughout the week truly highlighted the pride and positivity of our school community.
Warm regards,
B.J. Martin
WCS Principal

Students participated in themed days, meaningful discussions, and activities that promoted making healthy choices and showing pride in living drug-free. Thank you to our staff and families for supporting this important initiative!
CANDY FOR TROOPS
WSD Free and Reduced Meal Program
Free and Reduced Meal Options: We understand that some families may be affected by the upcoming changes to assistance programs beginning November 1, 2025. In the event of a prolonged shutdown, November’s SNAP food benefits may not be issued until federal funding is restored. Families participating in the SNAP program are considered Directly Certified and are unaffected by the shutdown through NSLP. Federal workers who are not being paid or have been laid off and need assistance should complete an application.
We want to remind families that applications for free or reduced price meals are available for any family who wishes to apply. Applications are sent to each household at the beginning of the school year and are available throughout the year at each school cafeteria, at the SAU office, and online.
Technology Fees:
Please check the Fees portion of your student’s PowerSchool account to be sure your Technology fee is paid to date. Each year, Windham School District parent(s)/guardian(s) pay a $15 technology fee. This annual fee helps defray the entire cost of repairs, due to accidents. Labor is provided at no charge as the technician is employed by the school district.
If you still have an outstanding technology fee balance, this must be paid prior to any damage/loss or you will be liable for the full cost. Annual technology fees & any other accrued fees do not disappear. They carry on from year to year, from school to school. Take a look at your student’s account to be sure you are paid in full in case of any unexpected damages.
