On behalf of the Moffitt PTO, we are thrilled to announce that our 1st official Mustang Spirit Wear WebStore is now open!

📌 Important Details:

• The WebStore will only be open for 3 weeks and will close on October 19th.

• Orders will be processed after the store closes, with delivery expected the first week of November.

• You can shop by scanning the QR code on the flyer or visiting the web link provided: https://moffittelementary.itemorder.com

• Front office option: T-shirts are still available for $10 cash only.

• The WebStore includes an exciting “online exclusive” design plus different shirt styles and sweaters.

• The WebStore will reopen throughout the school year (beginning of the new year and spring), so families will have more chances to order.

En nombre del PTO de Moffitt, estamos muy emocionados de anunciar que nuestra 1ª Tienda Oficial en Línea de Ropa Escolar Mustang ya está abierta.

📌 Detalles importantes:

• La Tienda en Línea estará abierta solo por 3 semanas y cerrará el 19 de octubre.

• Los pedidos se procesarán después de que la tienda cierre y se entregarán la primera semana de noviembre.

Dress Code Overview: Moffitt Elementary School adheres to the mandatory district uniform policy. Students are expected to wear clothing that is neat, clean, and appropriate for school activities. Clothing should not disrupt the learning process, endanger safety, or communicate unwanted or dangerous messages. If there is any doubt about the appropriateness of a garment, we recommend not wearing it.

Board Policy: To foster a positive learning climate and ensure safety, the Board of Education mandates school uniforms for grades K-8. This policy also includes an option for parents to exempt their children from uniform requirements, which can be arranged by signing the exemption form available in the school office.

Uniform Guidelines:

Boys:

• Solid white or navy blue shirt (collared, no logos) and/or Moffitt spirit shirts

• Navy blue pants or shorts, or dark-colored jeans

• Close-toed shoes suitable for physical education

• White or navy blue sweater, sweatshirt, or jacket

Girls:

• Solid white or navy blue shirt or blouse (collared, no logos) and/or Moffitt spirit shirts

• Navy blue skirt, jumper, pants, shorts, skorts, or dark-colored jeans

• Close-toed shoes suitable for physical education

• White or navy blue sweater, sweatshirt, or jacket

We appreciate your cooperation in following these guidelines to ensure a productive and positive school environment for all students. If you have any questions about the dress code or the exemption process, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

Starting tomorrow, Thursday, August 28:

• TK students will continue to be picked up at their regular TK gate on Goller.

• Kinder dismissal will be moved to the MPR due to the transition to the regular schedule and the ongoing construction on the Kinder playground.

• All 3 Kinder classes will be in the MPR for parent pick-up.

• Parents will enter through the MPR door by the parking lot on Bloomfield Ave.

• This change will be temporary until construction is completed.

👫 For siblings joining TK or Kinder students at dismissal:

• If your TK or Kinder student has a sibling you would like them to join for pick-up, please notify both teachers first.

• TK students: Siblings may join them in the TK classroom (the playground entrance will not be available).

• Kinder students: Siblings will join them in the MPR.

📢 Información Importante para Padres de TK y Kinder

During our playground construction, Kindergarten students will enter and exit through the main gate on Goller. Please review the maps below for all grade levels entrance and exit locations.

Morning Entrance Gates:

• K, 1st & 2nd Grades: Enter through main gate on Goller
• TK (Rooms 30 & 31): Enter through TK gate on Goller
• 3rd, 4th & 5th Grades: Enter through Silverbow gate
• FAST Rooms 84, 85, & 86: Enter through Thistle gate
• Bus Riders: Enter through Bloomfield gate

Afternoon Exit Gates:

• Kinder: Exit through main gate on Goller (During playground construction)
• 1st & 2nd Grades: Exit Through main gate on Goller
• TK (Rooms 30 & 31): Exit through TK gate on Goller
• 3rd, 4th & 5th Grades: Exit through Silverbow gate
• FAST Rooms 84, 85 & 86: Exit though Thistle gate

Siblings:
If you have children assigned to different gates, the older sibling may meet the younger sibling at the younger sibling’s gate. Please make sure to inform your child’s teacher so arrangements can be made.

All students are required to have a bus pass for safety and to confirm their eligibility to ride the bus.
To request a pass, please complete the 2025–2026 Bus Pass Application.

Student Absence Policy

If your child is absent for any reason, it is your responsibility to send a note when they return to school.

The note must include:
Your child's full name
Teacher’s name
Date(s) of absence
Reason for absence

❗ Unverified absences will be recorded as truancy on the 11th day if not verified within 10 days.

Ways to Report an Absence:
Send a written note with your child when they return.
Call the school office at (562) 210-3650 between 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM to speak with the attendance clerk.
Submit the Absence Reporting Form available on:

Important Note:
📌 After three (3) consecutive excused illness absences, a doctor’s note is required.
