#RelationshipsIn a Digital Age

How do you model being a responsible digital citizen?

Digital citizenship includes engaging in appropriate and responsible behaviour when using technology. A digital citizen is a person who develops the skills and knowledge to effectively, ethically and safely use technology to participate responsibly in social and civic responsibilities. Digital communication and sharing involves multiple decisions about what to share, how to compose messages or how to respond to what is received. How can we model digital citizenship and support our children to be responsible digital citizens?

Advocating for student understanding and decision making around Responsible Use of technology is one of the four foundational priorities of the #Relationships in a Digital Age initiative. This month the links, tip sheets, and videos focus on helping students reflect on their decision making process when using technology.

The Family Media Plan is an online tool to help families create a responsible and balanced approach to screen time.
