Hello Navigators,

It was an exciting week back and the the students quickly got back into the regular routines. Over the break our new shade structure was completed on the playground. We received a large structure where we can place tables so students can enjoy the shade, play games, read or work quietly in an outdoor space.

Remember there is no school tomorrow, Monday, January 15th, in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr.

We are planning a PTO meeting on Wednesday, January 17th at 6 PM. We will meet in the MPR, but I will also send our a link to join virtually. We hope to see you there!

Beginning on 1/22 we will begin our Great Kindness Challenge. This challenge is a wonderful opportunity to remind us all to be kind to one another and value the special things about each and every person. Our staff and students will be challenged to complete various actions of kindness through this time. Our intent is that these actions continue beyond just the challenge. Our Student Lighthouse Leadership team chose spirit days and kindness activities that we will be doing during recess. See this flyer for more information.

The BASE PROGRAM provides Before & After School care. If you are interested in enrolling your Child, please contact them through their website.

We are so thrilled with out STEAM program. STEAM stands for Science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. We have Ms. Pauels who teaches the STEM parts of STEAM and Ms. Harmon who teaches Art. Check out the STEAM Newsletter for the latest information.

Oceanside Unified School District has partnered with Care Solace to help families in need of mental health support. This services can help quickly find available services. We know there are times when issues come up that need to be resolved. OUSD has created a chain of communication that allows for an efficient resolution process. This is now located on our school’s website under “Our School” called Chain of Communication.
