Assistant Principal Message
Dear CES Families,
It has been a year filled with growth, lots of laughter, and discovery. I am very proud of our students. It's been a joy to watch their progress and development, both academically and socially.
As we prepare for the end of your child's school year, I want to thank you for your support throughout the year. As your children move on to their next grade level or for some, to the Margaret Chase Smith Community School, I know they will continue to shine and make us all proud.
Just a friendly reminder, there is NO SCHOOL for kindergarten and Pre K students on May 11th due to kindergarten registration.
Wishing you all a wonderful summer filled with sun, fun, and lots of relaxation.

May's Core Value of the Month
Each month Canaan Elementary students learn about a core value. These core values are essential for building good character and all point back to the BIG 3 - Treating others right, making smart decisions, and maximizing your potential. May's Core Value is Perseverance. Refusing to give up when life gets hard.
Students will earn cougar slips if seen showing Perseverance and any of our previous studied core values. Each month, we will draw one cougar slip and that student's classroom will win an extra recess! Teachers also pick 2 students each month to be the Core Value Student of the Month. These students will receive a certificate, a medal, and be invited to a pizza party with Mrs. Madore.

Our Honor classroom of the month is Mrs. Whittemore's Class. The ticket pulled was 's ticket. Baeley's class earned an extra recess!
